Beautiful hut with nice and warm staff. ⛰️🥾Spent a great night in the mountains. The next day we continued to the next hut…

Beautifully located hut in the Karwendel, a more than welcome stop on the descent from the Wörnerkopf. Friendly innkeeper, good cake, dream location - we'd love to come back!

We stayed at the Hochlandhütte for an overnight stay at the beginning of July.Of course we had reserved in advance.Great location and beautiful cabin.Unfortunately, the tenant ruins this good impression in the first contact, when “checking in”.Even when we greeted him there was no sense of any kind of hospitality; we had the impression that we were disturbing and overwhelming him with our presence.What followed, in a harsh, commanding tone, was absolutely invasive, was a kind of “instruction” about what is not permitted, with a convulsive and unsuccessful attempt to be funny.The whole thing is accompanied by silly prohibition signs on the level of a daycare center that hang in every area.When we asked where we could fill up our drinking bottles with water, he replied: "You can drink from me for a fee..."We were refused to refill our water bottles for the night with the comment that if we paid after dinner “we could talk about it again...”After paying, this was fulfilled with a bottle filled to 1/3, with a patronizing comment.Even when we asked him directly about this practice, he was unable to explain the background to us.It is very obvious that the refusal of drinking water is justified by an associated increase in sales.The meal was offered for the selectable time from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.At 6:30 p.m. we were told loudly in a kind of “speech” that we would also have to eat at 6:45 p.m. otherwise “there will be nothing for you”.Short and (not) good...The location is great,The food is ok, but rather poor compared to all the other huts in the area.The sleeping places are completely fineWashing facilities (no shower) are available and cleanBasically, you would get along well if the unpleasant, unfortunately omnipresent operator wasn't there.Compared to the huts in the area that we were able to get to know, the Hochland hut would take last place by a wide margin.We were amazed at how much commitment, competence, passion, friendliness and hospitality went into the alternative huts.The consequence for us is to avoid the highland hut on our next hikes and to plan accordingly.I reported the strange practices to increase sales at the Hochlandhütte to the DAV - German Alpine Association and asked for feedback.The answer is still pending but will be added to the review.

Super nice hosts and delicious food.

A beautifully located hut with a very friendly couple running it. The landlord Stefan took time for us, gave us tour and weather tips and chatted with us. We felt very welcome and comfortable. We are particularly grateful to him for the tour recommendation via the Wörner head back to the Krinner-Kofler hut. The food was also very tasty at very fair prices. We will be back! :)

A wonderful but also strenuous hike leads to the Hochland Hut. Here you will find a wonderful place to relax and linger in a wonderful idyll. Just great

Fantastically located hut with friendly hosts. I felt completely well cared for and valued.During the day you can eat great homemade cakes and good mountain food. Considering that everything here has to be flown in by helicopter, the selection of food and drinks is impeccable.In terms of price, considering the effort it takes to lug everything up here, there is no cable car and no road, only supplies from the air or by backpack, very moderate.A unique place in terms of landscape and people that I don't like to leave.Thanks to Stefan & Brigit for making it possible for me to stay here and enjoy the nature and peace.

Difficult climb to the hut, but you are rewarded with a wonderful view. A cool blonde and all is well with the world.

Very nice stay. Great location, very lovely tenant couple. I was impressed that the landlord Stefan really knew every route around the hut, including current touring conditions. He was also interested and took time for us. The food was really tasty. It is normal in many huts that only cash is accepted and for me reading this is part of preparing for the tour. The camps were clean and very comfortable. I can't say anything about electricity, I always have a power bank with me. We felt really comfortable. Great little cabin.
