Very unfriendly hut landlord. Snaps at guests for no reason and constantly sets unnecessary rules. So if you want to spend a really bad time in a beautiful hut after a tiring week at work, this is the right place for you! I think the innkeeper is perfect for living in a hut, but not a managed one!

Stayed there for one night last weekend. The location is fantastic and perfect for going on a further hike the next morning. The hut was well maintained and clean and decorated with lots of beautiful flowers. When you arrive you pay €15 per person. You can then only use the amount for dinner or breakfast. The overnight stay must be paid extra and cannot be recalculated. The innkeeper was very helpful to us and helped us find the right route for the next day.The food is okay for a hut, in my opinion the breakfast could be a little more generous for the hefty price of €14. (bread, cereal, cheese, salami, milk, tea and cafe)I found it a bit strange that you only got water for breakfast if you specifically asked for it and it wasn't a given that you would get some.

Thank you for the good hospitality and your friendly welcome. This time I was traveling with my sons and we were able to start the climb to the Wörnersattel and Karwendelhaus without snow.Your hut has a particularly beautiful atmosphere and deceleration is guaranteed. We would be happy to come back. We wish you many more satisfied guests.

Unfortunately really not recommended! The tenants are very unfriendly and set up all sorts of "rules", so that as a guest you are constantly being warned and told what you have done wrong. For us it started with us having to pay off €30. However, we couldn't use this for the camp or for eating in the afternoon, only for dinner or breakfast. Unfortunately, we were only told this when we asked and after we had already eaten extensively in the afternoon. So we were forced to choose the subterranean breakfast the next morning for €14. We actually wanted to leave early and have breakfast on the mountain. Breakfast consisted of one type of muesli, bread, thinly sliced cheese and salami. Very economical supplies were only available upon request, even if the tenants had just walked past the empty “buffet”.Filling up water bottles was also forbidden... The water for this had to be purchased. However, if you had breakfast, you could have your bottles refilled for free, but this wasn't that easy: After another guest had already had his bottles refilled at around 6:30 and his wife put her bottles next to the food counter, which was still closed, I unsuspectingly left ours Bottles added. The food distribution window opened and I was rudely informed that the bottles would not be refilled until 7 a.m. When I asked if I could just leave the bottles there for so long, I was asked again. That wouldn't work either, otherwise there would be 30 bottles there at some point. At 7 we tried again. When we put the bottles down and wanted to get breakfast, there was the next reprimand. You should unscrew the bottles and stay there until they are filled. Unfortunately, this was just an example of us constantly doing something "wrong".Unfortunately, we felt very uncomfortable in the hut and had the feeling that we were disturbing the tenants. It's really a shame, the location of the hut is so beautiful. If there are new tenants, they certainly won't come back before.

Hello dear highland hut team 😍🫶👍🤘Thank you for this great stay with you. Everything was great from start to finish. We (10,11 and I) felt very comfortable ❤️🥾⛰️💪The hut landlord was also very friendly 🤪 I don't really understand all the negative reviews about the unfriendly boss. I think that some people just can't understand that there are rules in huts that you should follow so that everything runs smoothly.Andrea ...... Thank you for the lovely day up there with you. Sorry, I didn't really say goodbye to you 🙏🤩The food was very tasty. Birgit Thank you for everything and the delicious chocolate, we really enjoyed it on the way ❤️😘I wish you a nice season and see you next year ❤️

Dream location meets nightmare service: unfriendliness, strict looks and thirsty guests. We came to the door hungry,The menu is full, but a menu? The starter, oh, how desired,It is only granted with the main course. The innkeeper, he seemed so burdened,As if our coming were a rest,On the nerves, hard to bear,Even though we just asked politely. One more coffee, maybe a piece,But every time an evil look,When paying, it was difficultAs if we were disturbing, more and more. The breakfast buffet, so richly stocked,But we were pressed by the innkeeper,With his eyes scrutinizing sternly,Whether we don't squeeze ourselves into the basket too much.Water, the elixir of life,We didn't find it here at the top of the mountain,Only in the evening and in the morning,We were allowed to get it in peace and quiet. The Highland Hut, a beautiful place,But unfortunately the word was missing here:Hospitality, open, warm and pure,So all we can do is be disappointed.
