Yesterday we went to the Waldbühne Altenbrak with our granddaughter.Since we wanted to have some quiet lunch after the performance, we called Mr. Paul (the landlord of the Jägerbaude) the day before and reserved seats. A really nice first impression during this conversation, which was then confirmed during our visit.We found a very good selection of dishes, and there is a large special menu for children.We really enjoyed our selection and the portions were very good. We had pollock, brawn and fish fingers.As Mr. Paul confirmed to us in conversation, you can also spend the night very well in the holiday apartments (bungalows) on the property. We will test this soon.We were very satisfied and thank you!

As natives of Halberstadt, we didn't just want to get to know the Harz on day trips, we wanted to sleep there, experience the morning and evening and the delicacies of the Harz cuisine.We found all of this in Mr. Paul's hunting lodge in Altenbrak.The bungalow was perfectly furnished and had all the amenities we wanted. We hiked during the day and it must be mentioned that the network of trails is very well signposted. The view of Altenbrak from Evil Kleef will never be forgotten. Built into our program was a visit to the Waldbühne Altenbrak with the performance “Aladin and the Magic Lamp”. What the theater “Fairytale” in Kultur und Kunst Thale e. V. brought to the stage here was a musical at the highest level and fun for the whole family.In the morning we enjoyed the bread roll service and in the evening the food in the Jägerbaude restaurant. The trout was a must and the fried carp fillet was something that is very rare in restaurants, plus a Harzer-style schnitzel with gratinated Harzer cheese, which Mr. Paul created himself. We give the kitchen 5 out of 5 stars and say thank you.To everyone who is thinking about spending a holiday in the Harz Mountains and not flying to the overcrowded destinations such as Mallorca with a lot of stress, we just say stay at home, you can relax and experience something special.D. Bremer family in June 2024PS: There is a witch's house in the spa park, let your children try to open the door, you can experience something there!

Very nice location and very good service from the boss Mr. Paul and his employees. It was no problem taking our little dog with us everywhere. Unfortunately, road work has been going on in the village for what feels like 100 years and access is possible but very difficult.

Today we were guests at the Jägerbaude with our biker club (PBF). We were warmly welcomed by the landlord and his wife. It is a very lovingly designed guest room where it is very comfortable to sit. The meal was excellent. We all really enjoyed it. Many thanks to Mr. Paul and his wife.

One thing in advance, you should definitely make a reservation, but it's definitely worth it!The food is delicious and special requests are accommodated whenever possible. There is something for everyone, big or small...The staff are very friendly and sociable. And when the weather is nice, it's worth sitting outside and enjoying the view!

We were here spontaneously for lunch today. The owner, Mr. Paul, was very friendly and helpful. The food tasted excellent 👍 What we liked best was the very nice and open manner of the innkeeper and the sheep in the brown Harz mountain cattle costume that were kept on the meadow opposite 😆 Alexandra & Hendrik

Altenbrak is a place 10 minutes from one of the main routes through the Harz. It's a very short journey to some of the Harz's attractions. I can also recommend the place for hiking. The hunter's lodge is the perfect starting point for many activities. Here the boss still cooks himself and it's so delicious.
