🙂 August 2017 🙂 18 🙂 19 🙂 20August 2017The “boss of the house”, Ms. Vogl, was very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely furnished, had a kettle, TV and the beds had very good mattresses.WiFi throughout the house.Everything very clean. Quiet location. Very nice view from the balcony.I enjoyed the peace and quiet here every evening. The breakfast was very good, as was the coffee - selection of cereals, yoghurt, sausage, ham, cheese, fruit salad, orange juice, milk, occasionally a perfectly cooked egg -.Attractive atmosphere, large on-site parking lot for guests. The “Gästehaus Vogl” can be easily reached from Bodenmais with your own car. About 2 km to the town center.I felt so comfortable that I have already booked for next year.•Location and surroundings:Great, even inexpensive, offers in the glassworks shops. Lots of fashion stores.Lots of interesting restaurants, some of which close their kitchens at 8 p.m. Next to the gas station in town there are decent pizzas "to go" and kebab, which I've gotten much better elsewhere. At the outside counter of a restaurant nearby you can get takeaway chicken - good and inexpensive.Breathtaking nature. Many beautiful hiking opportunities, excursions, sights and offers for children.Since nature is not yet poisoned, tiny mosquitoes also feel very comfortable here, but they sneakily leave large traces of their “meals”, especially at night. So start using insect repellent before the first “feeding”.For the spa fee, 2017 €2.50 per P/D, you receive the “Bayerwaldcard” which includes many discounts and free offers.E.g. free parking in Bodenmais, sightseeing, cable car (chairlift) and “GUTi”.GUTi is great! Free trips on buses and the beautiful “Forest Railway”, whose trips are perfectly coordinated.Ms. Vogl had the timetables with an overview of the route available, as well as pretty much all the brochures for the sights. The great tourism information office at the train station, with its friendly and helpful staff, doesn't have much more to offer. To get to know Bodenmais, an interesting hike through and around the town was offered on Mondays at 1 p.m., free of charge.I bought nice directions with maps and elevation profiles in the shop of a large glassworks in Arndbruck."Time out for me - Bavarian Forest". Subtitle: “25 pleasure tours for women”, although also suitable for experienced men.The ADAC has an informative, handy paperback with a ring binding: “Hiking Guide Bavarian Forest” and “Hiking with Children”. However, some of the extremely steep and/or uncomfortable paths are described as “child-friendly”, “terrain: easy”, “necessary fitness level: low”.A path to the magnificent Rißloch waterfalls / Riesloch waterfalls that was described as “rocky” consisted of “small rocks” over long stretches that you had to “crawl” over. Here you have to be a good walker. So not necessarily suitable for older people or those who are not.If you keep left from the parking lot, you have great views of the water running down. Older people are better off keeping to the right and taking the easy path to the waterfalls and back the same way.* * *August 2018After my great stay in August 2017, I was able to enjoy Ms. Vogl's hospitality again in August 2018.Everything was perfect again.* * *August 2019I would have liked to have vacationed at the Gästehaus Vogl again in 2019, but I “had to” go to Flensburg. 20 steam ships met in the fjord. Including the oldest saloon ship in Germany that is again seaworthy, the ALEXANDRA, whose restoration began decades ago.Now 111 years old.* * *August 2020This time visited the “Hochfall”. Extremely steep climb and dangerously slippery descent.Better: Visit the PFAHL in Viechtach.Thank you again for the lovely time.I wish the Vogl family ALL THE BEST and above all HEALTH.
