A hotel in Hochsauerland that is ideal for hiking stays. We spent two nights here as a group. The rooms and the surroundings are a bit old, but everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We felt very welcome in the family atmosphere. Unfortunately, as everywhere else, the general staff shortage is noticeable here, so that one day there was two dishes to choose from for dinner, the other only one, schnitzel with fries - but with a starter and dessert. However, efforts were made to accommodate the special requests and intolerances of some of the participants. And we were also informed about the possibly limited offer when we made the reservation. There is simple, down-to-earth cuisine without any sophistication.

The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from Den Brabander. This makes it not very suitable for après ski. Furthermore, the hotel is also quite dated. This means that the service is also very good, because it is also of old-fashioned class! Breakfast is very fresh. It's cozy and cozy. All in all a great hotel.

Beautifully located wellness hotel but with some quirks. Silverfish in the bathroom, unclean bathroom with rust on the shower tray. In the sauna area there were cobwebs on the ceiling and a lack of security on a slope. Hotel is very noisy. Service and staff super nice. Good cuisine at a good price.

🇳🇱He spijt me, maar de beoordeling paste helaas niet meer vanwege and limiet op het aantal tekens.🇩🇪In our latest adventure of hotel reviews, we stumble upon an establishment that boldly walks the fine line between “adventure vacation” and “horror film set.” Before I go into detail, I want to emphasize that our stay was a once-in-a-lifetime experience - and by "unique" I mean that we would rather use our loyalty points in a tent camp in the rain than spend another night there.Let's start with the room, which was clearly designed by a "creative" mind whose love of peeling wallpaper and the charm of junk furniture reminded us more of a crime scene than a tranquil refuge. The highlight, if you will, was the bathroom, which turned out to be an oasis of modernity - a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy atmosphere. But what would a hotel stay be without the infamous room service? Our experience was characterized by a mixture of poor quality and service that was somewhere between "barely acceptable" and "did you even call?" moved. It seemed as if the staff were only awakened by the magical ritual of taking photos on our part and promptly transported us to a more pleasant place - a phenomenon that is probably rather rare.Things got interesting at breakfast, which presented us with a scene straight out of a crowded train station kiosk, complete with the impossibility of finding a clean table without incurring the wrath of the waitress. After we agreed that we would cover the pond ourselves, we were allowed to move (see photo, it was empty). However, she later showed her human side when she sat us at a window seat without asking (which was very nice) and talked about her seemingly endless working days. A circumstance that aroused sympathy, but also raised questions about the corporate culture. The absolute highlight of our culinary experience, however, was the discovery that even the chocolate sprinkles were not spared from general neglect. A sight that not only raised questions about freshness, but also about the existence of quality management. The icing on the cake was a service worker who was in a remarkable state between "casual" and "urgently in need of a wash", although she didn't miss the opportunity to brighten up her working hours with a beer. Here we found an unexpected commonality, because at this point "enjoying the place while drinking" seemed like a perfectly sensible strategy. In conclusion, our stay at this hotel taught us to appreciate the little things in life - like departure. As we navigated every red light and traffic jam, we reflected on the deep gratitude of not having to spend every night in such "luxurious" quarters. An adventure that will be remembered, but for all the wrong reasons.

Wonderful hotel for winter sports. The rooms are indeed dated, but not much is needed if you are skiing during the day. Maybe a coffee and tea set would be nice, but you can also order this. Staff are extremely friendly and happy to have a chat. Location is perfect, after a 13 minute drive you are parked next to the slopes. Breakfast buffet is very extensive, from sandwiches to yogurt. At dinner you can choose from two types of main course, the food is very good. Sauna is available on request, wonderful after skiing. The pool is open almost all day (7:30 AM - 10:00 PM). This hotel is definitely recommended!

The aging hotel is a place of peace and quiet. It is run by a married couple who make an effort, but quickly reach their limits. One gets the impression that the hotel is more of a burden than a calling. …

Nice hotel with friendly people. A fantastic view from the hotel, tasty and sufficient dinner, good and very extensive breakfast, good packed lunch and that too affordable. Good starting point for beautiful walks! The only point for improvement is that the beds could be a bit nicer.
