Hotel from DM times.But very good food, but relatively expensive. Main courses sometimes cost over 40 euros. Rooms without air conditioning and in a relatively warm part of Germany.

Were only there to eat. This was again excellent and the service was very friendly. Here you are valued. Price/performance fits. Keep it up. We like to come back since 1993 (wedding party)

Our expectations were far exceeded. The scallops, the fillet, the rump steak, the wine list,… were the finest. I would recommend it 100% and wish the owners all the best! See you next time!

Too bad. Mother's Day 2:20 p.m. and unfortunately you don't get anything to eat. It's too late but it's still possible to drink.2 drinks and a not very attentive waitress. Very unfriendly when paying. Put the receipt in front of you and disappear with the glasses, one of which wasn't yet empty. We have the money 7€ for 2 kl. Put down the beer and left.

The shine is gone, the gold has its time.Room dusty and from the DM era.Breakfast was very good as was the service.The Golden Angel looks more impressive from the outside than from the inside.

A real treat in the form of a 4-course menu with a wonderfully matching wine recommendation in the middle of Thursday lunchtime. It's not that easy to get that spontaneously in sleepy Churfranken.To start with, there was a wonderful piece of foie gras embedded in a tasty jelly and a warm brioche on the side! A bit like a short trip to France.The scallops with the lobster cream soup were also very finely balanced.I have rarely eaten such well-prepared asparagus; the hollandaise sauce is still a bit foamy and creamy, but not too overpowering to allow the asparagus to take precedence.The service is also very courteous and not intrusive.Thank you very much for the wonderful menu, we were completely thrilled and are already looking forward to the next time!

We had a reservation for Christmas dinner on the first holiday. Unfortunately, we were not informed when we made the reservation that there were only menus and that we were sitting on the 1st floor and not in the restaurant.The Ameuse-Gueule was already on the table:1 tablespoon of lentil salad, 3 slices of hard sausage, 1 olive, with stale bread (you can also bake bread).The first course consisted of salmon terrine with horseradish sauce and quail egg, followed by celery soup. Both tasted good.For the main course we ordered the beef fillet. The meat was very good. However, the side dishes were completely out of the question.The winter mushrooms were a gray, tasteless mass and the 2 potato thalers tasted very much like deep fryer fat.The dessert consisted of 3 cubes of ice cream and a spoonful of apple compote decorated with 2 chocolate stars.None of the courses had anything Christmassy about them.What also seemed very strange to us was that the menu with beef fillet was the same price as the one with the vegetable roll.I'm happy to pay 75 euros for a menu,if it is prepared with love, tastefully and professionally.But not for a simple tavern kitchen.A thank you goes to the staff who served us in a very friendly and loving manner.

We had a wonderful meal at “Engel”. The quality of the food was excellent, but there was one downer that the waitress unfortunately ignored when I pointed it out to her. The prawns that I ordered as a main course were delicious but the portion was very very small. To charge €31 for 5 prawns with a lot of garlic and a really small side salad is outrageous. This portion is not sufficient as a main course. The advantage was that there was still room for the very fine chocolate mousse as a dessert. All the other people who were there had decent portions that filled them up.
