We were at the Gasthaus Rehwinkl from August 21st to 22nd, 2024.The location of the inn is very good and the room was clean.The breakfast was very tasty.

We don't want to give any stars at all. When we arrived, the guesthouse was overbooked. Therefore we would have to follow the landlord by car; he had other alternatives for us. After about 1000m we arrived at the house with holiday apartments, found no owners there, whereupon we were simply left standing and the gentleman was gone.

Typical inn. Everything is a bit older, but well maintained and clean. Despite arriving late on Wednesday evening, we were offered two three-course menus. Food was very good. A drink the next day was on the house. Owner was very friendly and helpful.

We spent around a week in May 2024 with a hiking group in Rehwinkel. So much in advance: it is relatively cheap but simple (!) accommodation for the location and the local prices. Anyone expecting a modern or even luxurious standard is certainly in the wrong place here. BUT:The location of the small hotel is uniquely good! From here, all destinations in the area can be reached on foot or by bus. The car can stay in the free hotel parking lot. The bus stop is 5 minutes away from the hotel, from there you can reach Berchtesgaden, Hintersee or the Almbachklamm for free with the guest card. In addition, the Wimbachklamm or the Wimbachtal directly opposite is also within walking distance, as is the entrance to the Watzmann, Watzmannhaus and the alpine pastures below. The pretty village center of Ramsau can also be visited quickly on foot via the beautiful path along the Ache.The Rehwinkel's top location comes with good cuisine that pampers returning hikers with a varied menu - vegetarian if desired and with very friendly service.The location on the main street doesn't bother you because of the good windows, but the rooms as such are a bit noisy.So if you've come primarily to hike and explore the beautiful Berchtesgadener Land and don't want to be put off by rainy weather and stay in the hotel during the day, this is the right place for you.

We went out to eat on site today, got our food really quickly and it was a very large portion, which is really more than okay for the price. Can only be recommended.

We were there for the second time. Rooms rustic, but completely okay. Inexpensive for local standards, as is the food and breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly and had apparently learned both arithmetic and the German language to such an extent within a week(!) that there were no problems with communication! (Yes, I'm talking about the employee with African roots.)In any case, I cannot confirm the negative, borderline comments in other reviews.What was also important to me was the proximity of the bus stop.

The service is an absolute catastrophic imposition, the guest worker in the service is completely overwhelmed, can neither calculate nor write, understands nothing and gets cheeky when you point out obvious things to him, he seems to me to be absolutely mentally underdeveloped, just like the owner of the restaurant, totally Sticky and unkempt only the old woman, probably his mother, is very friendly and somehow feels sorry for me, in itself a nice little farm, with unreasonable service and the smallest portions I've ever seen, every dish resembles a children's plate, totally laughable and the amount of dishes is ridiculous, even though they taste okay, you won't get full from the portions even with the best will in the world. We left a day early and skipped breakfast three times because the black refugee employee was absolutely incapable of anything and unfriendly. We will never come back. The service ruined our vacation even though we were very patient.

We are a hiking group based in Rehwinkel.We had a 3 course menu every evening.Let's forget the first day.After that, one surprise after another came to the table.Today, October 6th, we had pike perch with risotto and creme bruelle.DeliciousAt our request we had Kaischerschmarren in the pan.Extremly good.

We were touring and stopped there for lunch. Next to us there was a larger tour group and a few more tables occupied.I found it positive that the waiter told us right away that it would take a while because the kitchen would process the tour group first. OK, I think it's good that you know straight away.I ordered a Kaiserschmarrn and it was very fluffy. It tasted delicious and was definitely worth the wait.There is plenty of parking here and it's rarely a problem with a moped anyway.I can recommend you to make a stop here.

Two stars for the good taste. But portions very small. 1 dumpling, 1 planter (meatball) with sauce and small salad for 16€. I didn't get tired of it.Service 0 stars. Parts of the order were forgotten several times. There were 2 employees, a chef and a waiter. No wonder it doesn't work.

Our room was not as described in the pictures. Furniture (bed & closet) is probably 50-60 years old. Room noisy but clean. Breakfast was great.It was ok for the weekend.It would be too old school for me for a longer stay 🤷♂️.

I can't say anything about the hotel as we were only there to dine.But what I can say is that this inn has by far the best cheese spaetzle that I found on this vacation (I tried 4 different ones in the area). The service was also great.

Can't agree with my predecessor. Was there the same day. The operator was on crutches because she has a bone condition. I don't wish it on anyone.Some of the staff were absent due to illness. Which unfortunately happens everywhere these days. Nevertheless, operations continued. And you can also move around a bit. We were there for 6 days. The rooms were well furnished, the guest room was rustic in Bavarian style. The breakfast was okay, you got everything you needed. The coffee came from a good coffee machine (which actually has a good reputation) and tasted good. Everything was available upon request. Owner and staff very friendly and accommodating. The food was also very tasty, as were the homemade tarts/cakes. Of course I can't make a new one every day. But they were left in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2 days (so no problem).We can't complain and would come again. Many thanks to the Sandholz family for their hospitality.

Absolutely not recommended. Everything old and run down. Service=landlady with crutches. House guest had to serve. 3 cakes not from today. Just brewed coffee. Parts of the order were forgotten. The landlady points out the grievances in the guesthouse to the house guest in a loud conversation.
