We stopped there during our hike. Already at the bottom of the climb it was pointed out that a party would be accepted until 2 p.m., so we were in the restaurant around 2:30 p.m. and weren't the first. The company also felt comfortable and definitely stayed for coffee. We decided on hot chocolate (which really deserved the name), a large pot of café au lait (which was really large) and potato pancakes...which were super delicious. Despite all the circumstances, the service was very friendly and we were soon able to move on feeling refreshed. We'll definitely be back...because the whole area around it is just fantastic 🥰

Wonderful excursion restaurant in the former granite mining area near Königshain, which is also worth seeing! Definitely take a trip from Görlitz. In 20 minutes by car from Görlitz you can reach this landscape, which has been broken up by many quarries and has now been reclaimed by nature. The Hochsteinbaude offers a great spot to take a break. Whether in warm weather outside in the rocky backdrop and observation tower or in cool temperatures in the cozy hut with a warm wood stove. The food is simple but delicious home cooking. Moderately priced. The staff is friendly and very fond of children! Ideal for a family trip.

A real insider tip! The lentil soup here at the snack bar next to the HochsteinBaude was simply perfect - like at mother's at home. Wonderfully seasoned and really tasty. The Bocki was also a dream! We will definitely come back any time. Highly recommended after a hike on the Hochstein!

We made a reservation for 1 p.m. and ordered relatively quickly. Although it wasn't crowded, the service was overwhelmed and we didn't get our food until after 2:45 p.m. Other guests also complained because everything took so long, even the drinks. But the food was really beautifully prepared and tasted really delicious. So the food was great, but the service left a lot to be desired, as the tables weren't cleared for ages and people walked around idle and you had to wait far too long.

According to the reviews, we were looking forward to a great gastronomic experience without any problems, but the opposite was true.. 😔 First we sat down at a small table, ordered a drink, and then we were thrown to a larger picnic table with uncomfortable benches, saying that a larger group of people is supposed to come to that small table 🤨 it was still relatively empty... after another 15 minutes we were finally asked what we would like to order for food, in the meantime we finished our drinks and waited another 20 minutes to be able to order another drink.. after half an hour, when we had ordered food, which the waitress wrote down in her notes, she came to ask us what we actually ordered, or if we would rather pay and go 🤨 we were very hungry, so we kept waiting for the food that was brought to us until the whole hour... once the younger waitress apologized to us in English that they had a lot of guests that's why it took so long... I was there by bike and had lunch in the restaurant. It tasted excellent and the staff was also very friendly. You can marvel at the beautiful surroundings from the observation tower there.

Very nice location with a viewing tower since around 1970. I know the Hochstebaude from 60 years ago until 1989. In the 70s and 80s I did the waitressing, kitchen and kiosk there.
