Engel 16, Gutach

Very nice place with nice owners. The lounge is a nice addition, where you can enjoy a drink in peace and quiet and play a game (thanks to the games cabinet). It is a good base to discover the Black Forest.We only found the breakfast mediocre for the price you pay (16.50 per person per day - the most expensive breakfast of all the hotels on our trip, but also the least extensive). There was not much variety, no hot dishes such as fried eggs, bacon, etc. What was there tasted good.A few tips to make the room (we had the junior suite) even more comfortable: there were no bedside tables and we really missed them (to charge the phone, set the alarm clock, see what time it is at night..) . In addition, the curtains were not super darkened, making the room very light. This was partly because our room was located on the road and the room was illuminated by car headlights all the time.

We had a very nice 3 days here! The owners are really very nice and accommodating😊The rooms were always very clean and the breakfast was varied and very tasty.We would love to come back!!

Great reception, everything is neat and tidy there, friendly couple run the business, speak Dutch, English and German, the man is also a very good cook, delicious food there, spent two nights there, there is really nothing to complain about , rooms fresh and fruity when you come back. Yes, a great location.

Following our mistake, we booked two rooms for 4 adults when in fact we are a family with children, the owners accepted our cancellation request with professionalism and empathy, they even found us a fantastic structure where we could stay overnight.For the time we lived in the property I can say that it was super welcoming, with attention to detail and comfortable.

By mistake we booked the hotel but it was not possible to stay overnight (only adults are allowed while we are a family). The owners, despite having received a non-refundable reservation from us, understood good faith and met us in a very kind and professional way, finding us accommodation nearby and granting us cancellation without penalties. The hotel is beautiful and welcoming.
