We stayed at Nella for a few days. The location is really great, just 3 minutes from the Steinhuder Meer and the waterfront promenade. The insect museum (if you're traveling with children should definitely go there) is right next door. Despite the central location, very quiet at and in the hotel. The rooms are compact but comfortable, clean, renovated and no obtrusive smells. The beds are super comfortable. It wasn't noisy for us, even though I'm sensitive to noise at night. We had a family room, the children reached their "kingdom" via a wooden staircase. In my opinion it is more suitable for older children and less for small children. In our case it worked. The hotel has a salt cave and a sauna. Salt cave very comfortably prepared, by appointment only, definitely an experience. Sauna available at any time, of course with consideration or consultation with other guests. Sauna very well maintained, with shower and always fresh towels.Parking spaces directly at the hotel, we were lucky and always had one right in front of the door. But I can imagine that once the hotel is fully booked, things will look different. There are paid parking spaces 200m away. When booking, the parking situation is noted, so it's okay. The breakfast is very good, varied and always replenished. Our children were missing croissants, but that's not the end of the world either ;).The staff is very nice and helpful. As soon as we arrived we were told that the heating in our room wasn't working properly and offered us alternatives. However, in our opinion, the heating served its purpose and we started our vacation. In the days that followed, we were repeatedly asked about our satisfaction and people showed interest, so I don't understand the negative reviews. The reception was not staffed all the time from the afternoon and on the weekend, but a telephone number was left in case of questions or emergencies. The only thing I personally didn't like was that the front door wasn't locked, sometimes even late in the evening. Some guests come/go and just leave the door ajar, it doesn't lock and is therefore open to everyone. Maybe people should switch on their brains a little, for their own safety, we no longer live in a "healthy" world. I always sent my husband down to lock up at 10 p.m. in the hope that other guests who come later would also pay attention to it. Perhaps the staff could point this out to guests.I was really impressed by the water dispenser in the entrance area, it immediately seemed inviting. A great idea!Nearby excursion destinations, such as the insect museum, bike rental, boat trip, JU52 hall are a must!!!All the best to the entire Nella team and if Steinhuder Meer comes into question for us again, then we will come to you;)

Pretty half-timbered hotel with a modern interior. Everything is relatively new, our room 5 was big enough and had a new bathroom!). The location by the forest is quiet and also suitable for late risers (breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.). There is a star deduction for the few parking spaces at the hotel. The alternative “large car park” 5’ walk costs €5/day.The breakfast is very rich, only the pale baked goods instead of rolls are not that great. That's why the coffee is a coffee! The service is generally very good and friendly. Two stars deducted for the room service, which was “ecologically” reduced (which was also understandable). But the fact that there was no need to make the bed every day in a hotel (also not bookable) was unusual and unique in the course of our hotel stays. That had nothing to do with ecology.

Great location with friendly and supportive staff. Unfortunately, the hotel's price-performance ratio is not entirely convincing. For €178/night you expect a little more. …

What can I say... we stayed here for three nights... everything was great. The room was nice... modern, clean, with a terrace. The breakfast was good and sufficient... (A little more types of bread would be nice for me ) ...!! The service was great, friendly, always helpful. There was a kettle in the room upon request... so you could make another tea. I also liked the salt cave. I'll be back. !!! Thanks for the nice time. LG... Angelika Fuhrmann

We stayed in the hotel for 4 days. When we arrived early in the morning at 10:30 a.m. the reception was not manned and there was a note telling us to call the telephone numbers provided, but no one answered either number. When someone came, we were greeted very friendly and given our room key. The room has just been cleaned. After we came back a few hours later and entered the room, there were cobwebs and spiders everywhere on the ceilings, which were then immediately vacuumed away when asked. We were told that there was little staff available at the moment and that if we needed something, like toilet paper, towels or room cleaning, we had to write it down on a piece of paper before 11:00 a.m. But that didn't work with the toilet paper. And since the staff was no longer on site late in the afternoon, we had to find something else to do. We had the barrier-free room, which is very dark and not comfortable but very spacious. 0When we asked (after we had scrambled eggs every morning) whether there would be scrambled eggs again, we were told that scrambled eggs are only available when guests from 5 rooms are in the breakfast room, otherwise it gets cold and you then have to make new ones again yes, there would be enough other things to do. The scrambled eggs were made but we didn't think that statement was appropriate. If you want to go on a trip by car, it may happen that you don't get a parking space when you come back and have to park in public, paid parking spaces. The only good thing is the location of the hotel and that it is quiet. We can't say anything about the salt cave and massage because we didn't use either. We won't be coming back.
