Unfortunately drinks are very expensive.Unfortunately when the boat docked everything was full of ducks..... . Not exactly very hygienic.From afar, the island looks more like it really is.

We had an overnight stay and in the evening the island was all to ourselves with 8 people...incredibly beautiful. Service, rooms, everything was great

unfortunately, there was a mistake and I didn't read on booking.com that the hotel is on an island and you can't get to it other than by ferry. After email communication (they don't respond very often) we did not agree on a refund, rebooking of the date or other compensation. The ferry only runs 9-17 and this is insufficient for a business visit to Hannover. Big disappointment and unresponsiveness from the hotel

Everyone knows it, but very few people will probably have stayed there overnight, very cute, cozy rooms, the fortress is always worth a visit anyway.Nice operators and a coherent concept. We'll definitely be back.

very loving little island, definitely recommended for an overnight stay on the island. Price/performance for drinks and food at the kiosk are completely ok, the Portuguese restaurant invites you to have tapas and the rich breakfast is the perfect start to the island. Overall it's worth recommending.

It is and remains “a dreamy place” in the Steinhuder Meer, this small island of Wilhelmstein.

After we shared our experiences with management a few weeks ago and there was no response, we are giving our assessment openly:This was our third time staying overnight at Wilhelmstein. We only live about 15 minutes away by car, but it isSomething very special for us, this overnight stay.We treat ourselves to these once a year instead of giving each other presents at Christmas.Like every time, we are traveling to the island with the expat and are really looking forward to our stay. When we got there, we asked if we could move into our room. A young man says he is not authorized to do that and will inquire. After asking in the neighboring house, he tells us: Rooms are not available until 3 p.m.That could actually have been phrased in a friendlier way and we remembered her wife, who welcomed us two years ago and said to us first: Welcome to the island, now you can relax. Explore the island, we will prepare everything for you.We went back to the kiosk at 3 p.m. A young lady was waiting for us there and took us to the room. On the way there, I told her that the machines in the parking lot at the fairgrounds were broken and whether I would still have to pay the fees via the app and thatwe stood in the parking lot a bit at a loss. When I asked whether a message to the guests wouldn't make sense, she replied briefly and succinctly: She had no influence on that.My husband told her that we had a bit of bad luck on our last visit because we had small children staying in the house and whether that was the case this timewould that also be the case?Her answer: She had no influence on thatHer last comment was: The restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. and we have to be there by 7 p.m. at the latest.So now we sat in our room and looked at each other. Was this our little break from everyday life that we were so looking forward to?We were at the restaurant promptly at 5:30 p.m. and the young lady came to our table: croquettes (both types) were out.The next low blow that hit.Unfortunately, we also found that the food wasn't as good as we've had in the past two years. Here in particular the braised beef, the meat was quite firm and there was almost no sauceHowever, we really enjoyed the dessert (Pasteis de Nata)!!!For the last two years there was an extremely friendly, personable older lady at breakfast who was there for the guests. This year was oneyoung employee on site who was very reserved and reacted rather than acted. But at least she was friendly and tried hard.Mr. Weppler, we know that it is very difficult to find staff and we also realize that you cannot be there every weekend. But for the price we now have to pay to stay overnight, we were very disappointed with the service and probably won't be back.

A pretty quiet and romantic place

We had booked two rooms for one night with a couple who were friends of ours. Both bathrooms were very small and not in good condition. Mold in and outside the shower area. Shower water wouldn't drain and flooded the rest of the floor.Pillows were very hard...but that's definitely a matter of taste.The restaurant was also a disappointment.In summary, one has to say that the website gave rise to much more expectations.The price/performance ratio for both the room and the restaurant doesn't fit at all.To end this review on a positive note, I would like to highlight the great breakfast and the two very lovely older gentlemen who were responsible for it.

We liked it. Was there for the first time and didn't expect it like that.
