nice well-kept hotel. Employees take their time. They are always available, even at night if necessary. Room clean. New and modern combined. Breakfast sufficient and lovingly prepared. You can get almost anything if you wish. Small sitting area for seven people. Armchairs encourage conversation. seven different armchairs. Parking spaces directly at the house. We had a room on the ground floor. great terrace with sun in the morning. Restaurant nearby. about 600 m away. A great area for hiking. You can start directly from the hotel.

First of all: In a review it was criticized that, for example, E.g. there is only 1 croissant in the bread basket at breakfast (for two people). That is correct. The breakfast isn't exactly overly stocked either, but the background is sustainability. You can simply ask if you can get more - or we were actively offered everything (scrambled eggs, fruit, yoghurt, etc.) - I think it's much better than having tons of food served up and half of it thrown away at the end. Therefore 5/5 stars for the breakfast, because if you ask, you get almost everything you would expect in a hotel of this class.Waiters and innkeeper: Super friendly! At the reception he took the time to mention again what there was in the area and what you could do even in rainy weather. Very open-minded and friendly waitresses, asked several times during breakfast whether anything was missing.About the rooms: Rooms are not very modern (shower not on the ground floor, for example, and no LAN sockets in the wall) - but still in good condition for this price range. Otherwise very clean.About the surroundings: As you would expect - a small place where there is practically nothing going on in the evenings - but great for relaxation! Several hiking routes and 3 maars are in the immediate vicinity.Parking spaces: There are enough behind the house. For slightly deeper cars, access may be critical (relatively steep gravel path). I wouldn't drive down there with an AMG. However, it's not a problem as there are several public parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.Other: A "drinks vending machine" that is based on honesty (you make a tally of the drinks you take out). A small lounge where you can sit (a few board games and books are available).Food and drink: Apart from breakfast there is nothing in the hotel. The nearest supermarket is in Daun - about 10 minutes away by car. Otherwise there are 2 hotels and a pizzeria in the immediate vicinity where you can eat well.Location: relatively easy to reach - located in the middle of the Volcanic Eifel. Reachable from the A1 in about 15 minutes via country roads.Experiences/Activities: We mostly hiked. The location is perfect for that. There is also a small but nice museum about volcanism and earth history in Daun. However, not for small children: There are a lot of text panels spread over about 4 rooms. But very informative.

Unfortunately €120 per night is far too expensive. Breakfast: a croissant for 2 people, 1 slice of salami etc. On the second day there were no more eggs, a lot of potential for improvement for the price. At 60 to 80 euros per night this would all be ok, but not for 120 euros. It was nice that there was a meadow adjacent and dogs were allowed. The additional charge of 10 €/day for the dog is completely justified and okay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Eifellust country hotel. The hotel is in a beautiful location in Schalkenmehren. Wonderfully quiet location surrounded by lots of greenery and the many birds that we heard all day long. The rooms are beautifully decorated with love and are clean, which is also important. Every day there were neatly clean towels ready after our spa moment under the rain shower. The balcony was spacious with nice seating, which is very nice when the weather is nice. Breakfast was lovingly presented at the table every morning by Bernhard and his employees. From fresh rolls, rich cheese and sausage toppings. Homemade jam, delicious! Scrambled eggs, boiled or fried are all possible. Always a small yogurt and a delicious fruit for dessert for breakfast. On our last breakfast morning, Bernhard quickly went to the bakery for Schwarzbrot for my father-in-law who liked it so much, what a great service Bernhard! Landhotel Eifellust is highly recommended for those who want to relax in the Eifel.Kind regards from Wim and Fien, Jürgen and Sandra.
