We had a lovely short break in Strasbourg. La Celestine is very conveniently located. The city center can be reached quickly on foot and the room was very lovingly furnished. We got good restaurant tips from the host. Overall recommended.

The La Céléstine guesthouse is located on a comparatively inconspicuous street. As soon as the front door opens, guests are surprised by an entrance tastefully furnished with Alsatian details. The stairwell, the breakfast room and our room (we lived in a “dunette”) are also lovingly and kitsch-free feasts for the eyes. Friendly staff, very helpful with advice and assistance, good breakfast at the Table d'Hôtes. All the sights of Strasbourg's old town are close and easily accessible on foot. But you also get information about destinations worth visiting that are beyond the mainstream, in our case, for example, a farmer's market and two restaurants. We spent one night here on a bike trip and would do so again at any time. Secure storage of bicycles was included. It is advisable to inform La Céléstine of your arrival time by telephone. Booking directly via the website is easy.

Interesting 'factory' themed room, a little bit cluttered. Facilities a bit old school but very warm welcome. Good location a little out of the centre but within easy walking distance. Would recommend.

Located within walking distance of the old town (I'm very bad at walking), you can get to the cathedral very quickly. From there you can reach everything in a very short time. The lovingly designed house has an incredible amount of charm, just like its incredibly friendly owner, who not only provided a very delicious Alsatian breakfast, but also gave wonderful tips on excursions, restaurants and other tips for our onward journey through Alsace.Thank you very much for that, we would love to come back. Oh, and we arranged a meeting with the family in Oman. ;-)

Where to start. The place is fine but I cannot begin to comrehend how the reviews are so high. It is an ok 3 star bed and breakfast with a grumpy owner who wants to do things his way regardless if it inconveniences his guests. The rooms are tasteless and the design is so tacky. Filled with cheap furniture and nicknacks. The beds are uncomfortable and depressed. The form of the thousands of people who slept there before you are imprimted permanently into the matress. Kind of gross. And not very fair considering the price. Invest a bit in your rooms. The breakfast is not good. Its cute, and edible, yes. But the coffee is mediocre and bitter, and the daily pastry is ok. Would rather go out and get a decent breakfast in town. The thing that really frustrated me, and I am shocked that it is not more discussed in the comments, is the fraudulent payment system. On booking.com it states that credit cards are accepted. However, when you get to the inn you are notified that only cash or wire transfer are accepted. This is of course to avoid taxes. My mother and I had two rooms so I was expected to take 500+ euros from an atm to pay. Not only was this dangerous but the fees would have been over 30 euros. I decided for wire transfer and wired the amount owed. However when the owner recieved the payment, minus the 10 euro international fee, I was told I owed 10 euros. Which is ridiculous and I did not pay. That would be like telling a customer they owe you an extra 3% for the credit card processing fee. So inappropriate and shocking. How many thousands of dollars has he scammed customers out of over the years. RUN AWAY. As soon as you question his business practices he yells at you and gets agressive.Just so unecessary and unpleasant.

The location and amenities make it ideal for short breaks if you're out and about all day. The advance communication with the landlord via the booking platform did not work, so that no one was there at the announced arrival time and we had to wait an hour, and payment could not be clearly clarified in advance.Petite déjeuner was personally prepared by the host and enjoyed with the other guests while chatting at the table.Overall still too expensive.

We were delighted by Claude's welcome in this family home ideally located in the heart of the historic district. Beyond the great comfort of the rooms, the always judicious advice allowed us to discover, even better, a city that we have appreciated for a long time and in which we observe a true art of living. Thank you Claude. We will come back.
