The location of the hotel is great, a bit remote right on the border but everything is easily accessible by car. Kampenwandbahn was 10 minutes away by car. The staff at the hotel was annoyed and unfriendly. They weren't informed about the tourist tax fee when we wanted to pay for breakfast, which besides the price is an absolute disgrace for what you get there (€12 per person). We were told yes you still have to pay for it without any explanation or anything else. When we asked why we had to pay these fees, the staff had no idea. The rooms were quite okay. There was a strong smell of mold down in the stairwell. I would really advise against the hotel.

Unfortunately the service ruins the good food! We were only there to eat. The food was good and plentiful. Only the service leaves something to be desired! We were there on a Friday evening with 6 people and left a good €200 there! At 9.30 p.m. we were then very rudely asked to leave because we were finally finished! I've never experienced anything like it, unbelievable! We also heard from locals that it's always like that there! If they don't feel like it anymore, you get the bill and you can leave!

We chose this hotel for a short hiking trip. The dog was also welcome for a small additional charge. The location is ideal as a starting point for various tours! The rooms are huge, clean and functionally equipped. The whole building reflects a historical charm and we personally really liked it! The breakfast buffet had a large selection and was available from 8am. The menu of the Italian restaurant leaves nothing to be desired. The price-performance ratio is mega! We tasted a lot and were always thrilled! Every evening we even received a “greeting from the kitchen”, even though parties had booked the hall on the first floor at the same time. We didn't expect that at all. A note to previous reviewers: The service was very friendly and attentive to us! Perhaps the saying applies here: how it calls into the forest... Anyone who is bothered by the tinkling of churches and cowbells and the creaking of wooden floorboards should perhaps not go on holiday in a historic building in Bavaria! We definitely recommend this hotel!

The restaurant is a medium disaster. Not suitable for families. I have never been greeted and treated so unkindly in a restaurant. The waitress (boss?) wasn't keen on us when she saw our company; a few mothers with their children who wanted to end their mother-child treatment (spent in the neighboring town) comfortably. It was expressly noted on the phone that we were coming with children. In short: we were literally thrown out; Only one of us actually wanted to pay and ride, but we all had to pay. Mind you, I - and my child too - each had a quarter of pizza on their plate. A bottomless impudence. I then commented that I didn't think that was guest-friendly and she complained that our children were disturbing the other guests (some of the kids had already finished eating and were running around in the back area of the terrace, which was not occupied ) and being too loud (are they children?). Not child friendly. Finally she said: "You won't get a table with us anymore." Probably because I don't want to be treated like a second or third class guest and I objected to her. She presented the bill to me on her cell phone and didn't even look at me. What condescending, arrogant behavior towards a paying guest. Unbelievable. Other things: we wanted to go inside because it started to rain. The answer: "Where in? There's no room!" When I went to the toilet (miserably signposted) I saw lots of free tables. Big question mark as to why we weren't allowed in. I had ordered two large waters and received two 0.7 bottles. It wasn't pointed out to me that these were bottles and not 0.4 or 0.5 glasses. So there are 0.2 and 0.7. Aha. You can then make a lot of money with mineral water. The pizza was ok, nothing exceptional. My child had Pizza Frutti di Mare. Dough floppy, way too much sauce and cheese, it was OK for him, I thought it was mediocre. I don't know if they had a bad day or if that's standard practice. We will definitely never come back and I can't recommend it at all. To all mommies who spend their mother-child treatment in Aschau - Pizzaria Sachrang To the post office, you are not welcome here, you'd better go somewhere else. There's one star for the aluminum foil, which I was graciously given by another waiter because I hadn't finished it yet.

My family and I have never experienced anything so bad. What was good: The location. What was bad: Everything except the location.Since we were hungry after 8 hours of driving, we first stopped at the hotel restaurant to eat. However, this was a big mistake:Unfortunately, my spaghetti aglio e olio had nothing to do with this actually exquisite dish, except that it contained spaghetti.I had diarrhea the entire next day... My one son had the lasagna Bolognese, which was almost tasteless. My other son had ordered the lasagna salmone e spinaci, which obviously came from the microwave as one side was hot and the other was cold and had a rubbery consistency. All three meals were not edible and I'm still annoyed that I paid 48.50 euros for this "meal" because of my tiredness.Speaking of paying: when I wanted to pay by card I was told that only cash would be accepted.Only when I said that I would have to go to a bank to get cash was it suddenly possible to take credit cards.Afterwards we went to our room:On the way there we had to go through the stairwell. The basement of the hotel is so contaminated with mold and wet that breathing in the stairwell is torture for people with bronchitis or asthma. For healthy people like me, it simply smells strongly of the mold and some indefinable scents that were used to try to cover up the smell. When we arrived in the room we noticed the following:It was extremely dirty, cobwebs, spiders, silverfish, moldy walls, moldy, damaged beds, feces in the toilet, e-cigarettes from the previous residents in the bed, blocked ventilation in the bathroom, completely dusty headboards of the beds, indefinable dirt on and under the mattresses, unspecified stains on the lamps. Since I don't want to give you any pictures of the dirty toilets, the whole disaster can't be seen in the pictures.
