The Gasthaus zum Schwan shines with its hosts Katharina and Jörn Kabisch. At first she makes you feel very welcome and he is simply a gifted cook. If you're lucky with the weather, you'll be invited to a table d'hote in the beautiful old garden behind the house at the weekend - really special. But you can also sit comfortably in the old dining room, with a view over the counter directly into the kitchen. It's a lot of fun to break your journey in Castell for a nice evening.Not to be forgotten is “Merlot”. Never intrusive but always there.

We were guests at the "Schwan" twice - each time for a surprising and enjoyable evening menu and in August also in the beautiful summer garden. You can feel the appreciation of the innkeepers for the guests as well as for the regional food and luxury products that they combine in a relaxed manner: the guests in groups at the table, the carefully prepared and presented delicious dishes on the plates, suitable items in the glasses it's Franconian beer, regional wine or interesting non-alcoholic drinks. The night in comfortable beds and fresh country air was very relaxing, and the breakfast left nothing to be desired. Hiking and then being treated to such fine and relaxed hospitality, what a gift!

Everything just fits here!We stayed at this cozy inn for three nights and it was so beautiful. Ms. Hecht and Mr. Kabisch are very, very lovely hosts and also super helpful afterwards. Breakfast and especially dinner are fantastic. You can tell with every course that the boss enjoys cooking, everything was so delicious.We enjoyed the set menu in the idyllic garden on two evenings. You sit at large tables and possibly make new acquaintances. The boss “missed” us a very nice table company on the first evening.The area is great and we hiked eagerly, the paths are mostly well signposted.All in all, it's so good, we've already booked for next year!

Very romantic country inn surrounded by an idyllic garden. Castell is a very well-kept village with beautiful buildings and views of the Steigerwald. It is a good location to explore nature and the surrounding area. The evening menu in the harmoniously designed dining room is very tasty and offers completely new taste experiences. Everything to relax and enjoy.
