I became aware of this campsite through the sleeping beach chairs (as of 08/24 there are 2).The location is breathtaking. The campsite management is extremely accommodating and immediately creates the feeling of being on holiday. The toilets, washrooms and showers are brand new and sparkling clean, which is really a huge plus and worth highlighting. There is a small shop on site that serves all your everyday needs. We would come again and again, especially to the sleeping beach chairs!

Insider tip among German campsites. I have loved camping there since I was a child.Nevertheless, the groundskeeper gave us a really bad campsite last time. Directly under the aircraft's approach path. These flew less than 20m above us every day from shortly before 9:00 a.m. That's where you're really pumped. For next time we have now noted down some plot numbers where it is better to camp. The toilets/washrooms are good. The number of charging stations opposite registration is far too small. It's basically just a matter of luck to catch a free one. However, the proximity to the sea is fantastic. You fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves. Mega! There is a small kiosk at the airport for your daily needs. And WiFi :-)It would be great if there was some kind of service from the pier to make it easier and more comfortable to transport the entire camping baggage to the campsite or bring it back there on the day of departure.

A beautifully situated camping site on the island of Heligoland Düne - available, of course, only for tents (no motorized vehicles are allowed on Heligoland, so cars and campers are not allowed). Thanks to this, the area is wonderfully quiet, you can only hear the sea and birds (seagulls of various species in unprecedented numbers!). Wooden footbridges make moving around the sandy campsite easier. A huge plus for the bathrooms - I have never seen such clean bathrooms at any campsite! They are well thought out, simply exceptionally comfortable, and additionally cozy thanks to the wooden decor. Separate shower building, separate lockable washrooms, separate toilets (with changing tables for children). In addition to tables and benches, the campsite also has beach baskets scattered throughout the campsite for general use - a cute idea reminiscent of the numerous colorful rental baskets on the nearby beach. Among the paths and plants of the campsite there are attractions such as giant chess (free of charge) and mini golf (paid). There is a slight lack of a roofed room in case of bad weather - during opening hours you can only use the shop/restaurant of the tiny airport adjacent to the campsite and forming one organism with it (quite unusual :))Important organizational information - you can't pay by card at the campsite, and the staff doesn't speak even basic English - this is probably the biggest minus.Overall, it's a great place - an uninhabited island with a campsite, an airport and beaches with seals - a perfect place for real relaxation!

Quite disappointing after all the good reports here. The groundskeeper was extremely flexible in accommodating the request for another seat, even though the site felt like it was 98% empty. The sanitary facilities are clean and ok (no trash cans, no hairdryers in the shower) but nothing more. Short-term campers are obviously crammed into one strip, no matter how much space there is. Heligoland is really worth a trip, but this place definitely isn't. We won't be coming back.

A very nice place on a gorgeous island. The groundskeeper is very friendly. The sanitary facilities are a bit older, but that doesn't matter at all. The cleanliness was excellent. Important to know: Take sturdy, special sand pegs with you. I had 32cm large, shovel-like ones with me. They hold the tent securely on the ground. The places are somewhat protected by sand mountains/dunes. But wind can always blow through. The place is absolutely recommended!

Simply great! And here are a few details why:The pitches are essentially divided into plots by dunes, so you don't have the feeling of being at a mass event. Thanks to boardwalks, everything is easy to reach with a suitcase.Everything you might need to straighten your pitch or set up your tent is freely available at any time. The boss and the employees are very accommodating and changes to the booking were dealt with without any problems. You can pay with EC or cash at the end of your stay (if you stay several nights). My experience is limited to a stay of several days in the low season (beginning of June 2022).The sanitary facilities are awesome for a campsite, especially when you consider that many day visitors to the dune probably also use the toilets. Everything was always in a clean condition (which of course also depends heavily on the user) and there was always enough toilet paper, soap and towels available. In general, the public toilets on both islands are in pretty good shape and decent toilet paper is used everywhere (no wafer-thin stuff). The washrooms consist of individual cubicles with electrical outlets. The water can be set so hot that you can use it for hot water bottles... you save yourself the time of heating water on the gas stove if you have frostbite. The showers also consist of quite large individual cubicles. The water pressure is enviable, I don't even have it in my apartment. The water temperature can also be adjusted perfectly. There is also an open area for washing dishes, which I pass countless times without registering it. Tall faucets and sinks are great for filling water bottles. And even here you can access warm water. What else I noticed:The tents that the staff set up for guests appear to be of very high quality. During a stormy day there was virtually nothing moving while everyone else kept putting up new lines.Storm pegs are definitely highly recommended... the weather forecast cannot keep up with the island's actual changeability. The best thing about my stay:When I woke up in the morning and there were seals on the north beach, I would hear the soft "huuuuu" of the animals while lying in the tent. I will miss this...

I was only there for one night, but the campsite is beautifully situated on the dune next to the main island. The space is manageable, you are protected from the wind between the dunes, the gentleman in administration was extremely friendly and, above all, the sanitary facilities are really neat and clean. Only the runway right next to the campsite is a bit annoying in the long run and the fact that you unfortunately have to pay €3 for each crossing with one of the dune ferries is a bit of a shame. Still, it's worth it!

Very nice and quiet place. No electricity at the sites. Cleanliness of the sanitary facilities1 a.The seagulls even manage to open zippers to get food. Plastic packaging is also not a problem. So don't leave anything outside the tent!!In the evening the sunset over the water is fantastic. If you want to be a little closer to nature, this is the right place for you.WiFi is not available. The paths are paved and there is even a luggage delivery service (although this must be booked in advance)
