Warning! If you book for 2 people via Google Maps through a third party, it defaults to 1 person. Then, when you check in, the desk clerk/owner will want to double the 83€ price. For us he came down to 140€, despite the fact that the third party showed 124€ for 2, including breakfast. The bed was okay, but that's the only thing this place had going for it. The shower leaked, the window blinds were inadequate, the door locks were difficult, and the floors were creaky. The free parking was in an adjacent muddy field.Go elsewhere. But, if you decide to book anyway, you've been warned.

A nice small hotel. Not far from the Alpa Mare aquapark. ||The rooms are much better than what you usually expect for such a low price.||The room itself was very clean, well-furnished, large enough and had plenty of storage-paces. …

Room was bigger than expected. Modern bathroom, contemporary rooms with fast WiFi. Small refrigerator, TV, desk, lounging area; clean. Restaurant was excellent, very "gemütlich". …

We found dirty glasses, dirty & molded sink and shower, dirty toilett, the fresh towel had toothpath on it. The bed cover war completly hairy (maybe animal hair), which was visible from a distance. The sofa was not functional, the key could barely pushed into the key-whole in the door, the window was almost impossible to close.Due to the fact, that we wanted to complain against the accomodation (it was very dirty, smelly, unhealty), we had to wait 30min for the manager to get our invoice. He didn't appologise at all for anything of the above mentioned issues.

Altes Zollhaus is a cozy place to stay. With comfortable accommodations and friendly staff you can't expect much more. The price is comparable with other places in the region. My family and I needed a place to stay quickly and they went out of their way to accommodate us. We ate at the restaurant and found the steak very salty. The noise from the street did make staying here unattractive but we just needed a bed and a shower for the night. All in all I would still recommend a stay here if you're interested in a cozy bed and breakfast in this area.

Stayed one night as part of a five day cycling tour. Had a family room. The children’s sofa bed was quite lumpy. |There was a small step down to the room and a small step up from the bathroom. Toe stubbing and falling over small. …

To be fair, I chose a budget room, not a nicer room. It seemed they had renovated part of the hotel. Dated, not clean, bed felt like foam (?). Still was 88€ - not a good value for the money. The restaurant, however, was top-notch.

Bad Tolz is a quite fantastic destination, so the Altes Zollhaus probably receives far more visitors than it would elsewhere, due to the demand for rooms. …
