We got married in the medieval Herrberge in May and are still overwhelmed by the great impressions! The location is a very special gem! The operator, Michel, ensured everything went perfectly and was always involved himself, a real doer and very personable and accommodating! We would book the Marstall again for a party at any time and would be happy to come back to various knights' monuments! We will remember the celebration with consistently positive impressions - thanks for everything!

Large hostel for private parties, which can be rented with or without overnight accommodation and catering. In front of the entrance there is a terrace with seating that is shielded from the street.On the ground floor there is a large kitchen with a counter and right next to it there is a small breakfast area with benches and tables. There is an industrial dishwasher in the kitchen and there are large refrigerators for food and drinks you bring with you.You can also rent a large ballroom.

We got married here!A beautiful location, super nice staff, great organization and the food is simply a dream.Our guests were able to spend the night on the upper floors and the next morning we had a hearty breakfast together. thank you thank you thank you :-)

We recently stayed here with a larger group, had the hostel to ourselves for a weekend and were also able to use the kitchen. Anyone who expects a 5-star hotel including a television etc. will not be happy here. We thought it was great, and very child-friendly (it would have been perfect with a playground, but we still didn't get bored). I read in older reviews that the rooms used to have no doors - that is no longer the case. The bowers have lockable wooden doors. There is no hay storage (anymore) - fortunately, because with my hay fever that wouldn't have been any fun for me. The bathrooms were very clean, there are lockable individual cabins for showering. Medieval flair was wonderfully combined with the advantages of modern times (you know - sanitary facilities, well-equipped kitchen, refrigerator, etc.). We would have preferred to stay longer. I suspect that it gets quite warm up under the roof in summer, but our bower had a very pleasant room temperature. It should be noted that the room is quite small. This would probably not be good for a longer vacation where you don't want to leave your room. But we didn't plan on that ;)Smaller children should be supervised outside as there is a stream in the immediate vicinity.The castle is easily accessible on foot and you can use a secret path through the forest.Edit: Can't be reached without a car, no train station in town. But the hostel can't do anything about it...

Highly recommended for groups. We were there with 20 people at Easter. You have everything you need. It is quiet and the surroundings are very beautiful. Always my pleasure.

Very poor, poor rooms, no TVToilets on the floor below, like in the army, it's not a hotel.

The hostel is an old building with three floors. The knight's hall is located directly under the roof. Up to 40 people sleep in one room on camp beds. This is cheap and just right for classes or a bachelor party. The roof is not insulated, you sleep directly under the roof tiles. That's probably why it's very hot in summer, but now in October it was very cold. Don't forget thick blankets!On the floor below are the bowers, i.e. rooms for 2 to 4 people. These are very simply equipped with wooden beds or camp beds + mattress. It gets pretty cold here at night too, but there is a small electric heater that does the job. Unfortunately, our room had a very strong smell that we couldn't get rid of despite constant ventilation. Whether it was the old walls or the toilets directly below our room? - we don't know.There are shared bathrooms on the first floor, which are functional and absolutely fine. On the ground floor there is a lounge and a kitchen, where breakfast is also served. The ambience here is nice and cozy.A big disadvantage of the hostel is that the rooms are very noisy. You can hear every step and every word of the other residents in the rooms. This isn't a big deal if you have the accommodation to yourself as a group, but it is annoying if you're constantly exposed to everyone else's party noise.Conclusion: I wouldn't celebrate my wedding here, but you can go on a trip here with fellow students, buddies or larger groups of children and young people.
