We went bowling here yesterday and ate afterwards. The food was excellent. My daughter is still raving about the delicious roulade. The rest had rostbätel or schnitzel, and everything was very tasty.

The food is very tasty and the prices are completely moderate for what you get. There are several rooms in different sizes for family celebrations. Some with fireplace. The bowling alley is great. The guesthouse rooms are clean and tidy. Nothing exclusive, but after all you are not in a 5 star hotel. We hosted several celebrations there. We received great advice at all times. Personal wishes are taken into account and we also decorate the room with the scent ourselves and were able to do everything two days in advance. The hosts and service staff are always friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back!

I spent the past May 1st weekend as a little break in the sun with the Bärthel family. I was really very happy to be able to stay there. It's quiet there and the food was good, inexpensive and suitable. The bed in my warm room was also good, although I was a bit worried at first given the relatively cheap room price. I slept wonderfully :-)A big compliment and thank you very much, dear Mrs. Bärthel (including her husband and staff).Kind regards from southern Germany.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding yesterday with almost 40 guests at the Gasthof zur Sonne. The room was nice and big. The agreements and implementation were problem-free and everything went very well.We were also allowed to decorate on our own and live it up to the fullest 😁Unlike other locations, no room rental was required. The service was fluid and the buffet was very tasty and varied. Our guests were thrilled. Some guests including us also slept there. Rooms are typically rural but comfortable and sufficient. The next morning there was a lovingly prepared breakfast. Everything was perfect for us.

We celebrated our wedding at the Gasthof “Zur Sonne” and are really completely satisfied. The owner, Ms. Bärthel, took a lot of time to make arrangements in advance. We felt we were well advised at all times during the discussions and their recommendations as well as experiences with other events meant that our wedding left nothing to be desired in terms of gastronomy. The staff is refreshingly warm and equally professional. All guests felt like they were in good hands during the celebration. The quality of the food also left nothing to be desired. We had planned cakes/tarts and a buffet for 27 guests. The planned quantities were very suitable so that every guest was full, was able to try everything and there were only a few portions left. This meant that nothing had to be thrown away unnecessarily. Not too sparingly planned but also not pushing the Tupperware limit to its limits. The ambience of the celebration rooms is rather rustic (typical for a country inn) but without seeming oppressively heavy or outdated. In general everything is very well maintained and in good condition. We also used the guesthouse rooms. These were clean and spacious. Three of them also have a large roof terrace. However, if you expect the standard of a hotel room, you are comparing apples and pears here. However, if you approach a country inn or guesthouse with realistic expectations, you won't miss anything here.We had a great time and are glad we chose the Gasthof “Zur Sonne”. Thank you for everything.

Maybe they only cook well here for registered celebrations!? I don't want to test this anymore! Sunday at 1 p.m. at lunchtime, cycling in the best weather. The few tables in the garden were arranged in such a way that it was probably undesirable to linger - the seats had probably not been cleaned for a long time. In the dark guest room (without a guest, since the reviews here are so great?) we were asked what we wanted. Food and drink of course! The light was switched on, there was enough space to choose from. In this chilly environment (we would have preferred to sit outside when it was 27 degrees and unfortunately the place opposite was closed for family reasons so we could go) we decided on something simple so as not to cause any further inconvenience. A noodle soup with chicken and a ragout was ordered. The noodle soup was made from grainy broth (very tasteless and had to be seasoned with Worcestershire sauce) and the ragout was from a can. It really annoys me to be served like this in a hotel and to be served such dishes. What does this have to do with cooking!? Luckily the waitress didn't ask if it was tasty - it wasn't rocket science! It was so bad that I was ashamed to express my opinion. But maybe the review will help you think about cooking all the dishes on offer “with love”. Even though the prices were cheap, I expect chef-made food and not ready-made meals!

A nice guesthouse with a bowling alley. And the staff are always friendly and make a lot of things possible. I would very much like to come back.
