Clean house and rooms. Shower and toilet in the hallway, which is no problem. No card payment possible, was not visible on the homepage.Breakfast wasn't available until 9:00 a.m., unfortunately much too late for me.Service team was super nice and helpful.

Unfortunately you cannot pay with EC card. If this has already been mentioned on the homepage, you can transfer the money in advance. Unfortunately I have to skip breakfast because 9:00 was way too late for my appointments. The employees are extremely nice and friendly.

Very good for a youth hostel. It's a shame that there are so many young people who have to destroy everything. Otherwise it would definitely be even nicer here. The staff is very nice and helpful. Even the boss is pretty cool. The toilet and the bed were great. The food is also very good and she always fills her up. The youth hostel closes on weekends, but with arrangement you can also stay there over the weekend, but you have to look after yourself.

You can sleep on the beds, even if they are not particularly comfortable. The internet is very weak, it didn't reach my room, even though there are several devices in the house (perhaps defective?). I often had to stand in the hallway to have a connection. Unfortunately it has become 2G at the time of the review, although their house rules apply, but it is quite disadvantageous as a long-term contract. I am also human and just want to sleep/rest there and not spread viruses. But compliments to the chefs for dinner, which was consistently delicious.

Some of the employees cannot treat us as trainees as adults. You would think that you are a guest in this accommodation, but that feeling does not occur! Sometimes you even get yelled at. Of course, there are also employees who make you realize that you are interesting and important to them. The food can definitely be made better. Not many people live there, so you could cook fresh food, but that's not the case. The beds squeak and are really very uncomfortable. You can't relax there because the other trainees and children in the home can sometimes be very loud. Unfortunately, not much is done by the employees. The kitchen that you could use yourself is permanently closed. At the moment due to Corona but even if other residents treat the kitchen badly, everyone is allowed to suffer.Unfortunately not recommended, even if many people think good things there. Unfortunately, the implementation is very poor.

So we stay there for several weeks several times a year during our vocational school. The beds are no longer like wooden boards, the food is inedible and it is often loud until the middle of the night. The staff is mostly unfriendly. It is definitely not recommended!

For a youth hostel, this house deserves 5 stars. Very nice staff, clean small rooms and sanitary facilities, always varied, home-cooked (!) dinner.Football, volleyball and basketball can be played on site. There is also a pool table and a table tennis table in the basement. However, you should be aware that there are a lot of young people living there, which is why it can get louder from time to time.

I've been at Grünberg's house for 7 weeks now and haven't had a good experience. The entire staff is catastrophic and unfriendly. There are 10 of us on one floor and we only have one toilet that is never cleaned. We also found moldy bread a few times. And the room is never cleaned, only the trash. And if you leave your towel to dry on the toilet over the heater, it will be stolen.

I'm staying here for my vocational school days. The rooms are quite small, but definitely sufficient, you can easily concentrate on your school things. The internet isn't the best, but at least you have a connection and can work with it.The food is always super tasty and often home-cooked and you can definitely eat your fill :)Of course it can get a little louder in the evenings after school, but this is due to the fact that there are a lot of young adult vocational students staying there and therefore the music tends to be turned up a little louder. All in all a top youth hostel. If I had to choose a youth hostel in Gelsenkirchen I would come here.

We, 3 cyclists from Menden (Sauerland), were here for 1 week in September. The rooms (double and single rooms) were very clean. Facilities were very good, some with shower/toilet.An ideal starting point for cyclists and visitors to the Ruhr area. The staff and management are very helpful and always open to a conversation, including with regard to tour planning. Tools for minor repairs to the bike are in the house. Conclusion: The house is definitely recommended in all points such as cleanliness, friendliness, price/performance ratio.
