We stayed at the almost magical place for 3 days, and is was the perfect start of our vacation. Very nice apartment, friendly and helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. Breakfast at the terrace overlooking the wineards and a a great base for cycling tours. The little gallery across the street is also worth a visit

It’s a small walk up a hill from traditional wine-town of Freyburg, and the views of the Unstrut river, the Edelacker Terraces and the valley itself are stunning. The Weingut itself is set in an old Monastery and it is a wonderful place to sit and have a glass of wine whilst watching the world go by. The staff are very friendly and make sure that you have any questions answered… which resulting in tasting a lot of beautiful wine.Speaking of wine - the wines are exceptional - particularly, for me, the GG varieties of Riesling, Weissburgunder and Grauburgunder. However, there are plenty of interesting and different varieties to try in the shop - including Regent and Blauer Zweigelt.I thoroughly recommend visiting Weingut Pawis for a perfect introduction into the serious and beautiful wines that Saale-Unstrut produce. If you’ve never tried a wine from this region before - you will not be disappointed.

Found this gem when searching for wineries to visit in Germany. Stopped by on our way to Berlin. Great wine and pizza, bought some to bring back to the states. Very cozy location, was nice to walk around the area. Small local towns around the area are really cool. Would go back if I’m ever in the area again.

Very beautiful weingut in saale-unstrut. However I am disappointed by the rather impolite service we received when we wanted try and by wine. Having visited many weinguts In most German wine districts we love the nice service and the proudness wine producers show when presenting there wines, but this did not happen at all at pawis

Having the VDP doesn't seem to mean much. In a summer saturday the beautiful place is empty with a sign on the door warning to ring the bell if you want to buy wine.

It takes a while to walk into town but the path is beautiful so it doesn't count. The wines from the estate taste great, the staff was very nice and accommodating.A clear recommendation for everyone who likes wines, views and ambience.Would come back at any time.

On Saturday we spontaneously went to the ostrich restaurant at the Pawis winery in the beautiful late summer weather. The service was simply great - new tables and benches were quickly set up for us.There were very tasty little things to eat and excellent wine to drink (we also took some home with us)

This was our second time at this beautiful winery. The 5 rooms in the Brunnenhaus are beautifully furnished and leave nothing to be desired. Two of the rooms are larger and have separate rooms. This is well located as a starting point for excursions, on foot, by bike or by car.If you want to spend a few days in peace and quiet, you can stay relaxed in the surrounding area.

Wine tasting an experience. A great winery with very good wines 😢 and a little insight into how they are made. All in all a successful Saturday evening. Many thanks also to the organizer Mr. Pawis for the entertaining setting. Gladly again. We'll enjoy the wine🍷. 👍
