Best schnitzels in Germany. The service is great, authentic setting and great prices. You will get more then your money's worth when you eat here.The food was bit on the salt side but that's a German thing in general so not really a point of criticism for this fine establishment.

Boss yells at staff in front of guests!Addition: The boss responded to my review by saying that we didn't know what it was about. But it was obviously about the employee not working quickly or well enough. She was alone at the time and did what she could. Other than that, it doesn't matter at all!!! what the reason was. The boss also tried to justify himself to us. I don't care why he reacted that way. The fact is: when there are customers in a restaurant, you can't behave like that as a boss!After he was bullied, the employee went to the door because she was crying. And even there he had snapped at her again and asked what this was all about. I asked him not to do that and told him to sort it out in private later. My girlfriend also told him again to please leave now. Then he went in with the waitress, the theater continued, and the two of them stood again only 3 meters away from us. Impossible!!!!...Here is the original contribution to the review:Today we had dinner in the castle courtyard with a few friends. After dinner we played a few rounds of cards at a corner table. We were served throughout the evening by a very nice young lady. Her service was really good, she was very attentive, helpful and friendly.But for some reason the manager of the house was dissatisfied and treated her badly in front of the guests, bossed her around inappropriately and yelled at her extremely loudly. An absolute no-go for me, regardless of the reason.I also told the owner that I found it impossible to treat his staff like that in front of the guests. I really felt sorry for the young woman. You shouldn't be surprised if no one applies for the job ad that's hanging outside the window.I will no longer visit the restaurant for this reason!PS: The food was okay

A very nice rustic restaurant to our liking! Very friendly service and really delicious food! When we go to Cologne again we will sleep in the Hotel Am Freischütz and have a delicious meal here again!
