A beautiful place with a unique atmosphere! Excellent service, ideal as a starting point for exploring the many attractions in the area with the family. Price/performance very good, staff helpful, patient and child-friendly. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner varied, tasty and generous.

Very decent for a youth hostel. Unfortunately not for people who don't like stairs 😅

Was there for the medieval market, unfortunately the castle cannot be visited as a visitor, otherwise it is a beautiful complex.

Wedding celebration in the castle's former warehouse for 60 guests and live band. Class!Good room for overnight stay in the castle. Everything you need...Breakfast and dinner very good and inexpensive. A fire is lit on the large meadow in front of the castle for a cozy get-together on the day before the wedding. Bouncy castle for the children was very well received. The only negative point: Since I am disabled, I asked to be allowed to drive my car into the castle courtyard to unload and load. This was refused to me in a very rude manner by the young woman at reception. The next day someone else was probably on duty at the reception, so a few cars were allowed to drive into the castle courtyard for a short time to be loaded.Otherwise absolutely recommended.

Since we are there with tents once a year, it's a great location. I love the moated castle and will miss it terribly. Especially the Strasbourg family, who we have known for years. The last medieval event will take place on September 28th / 29th.17 years are coming to an end.

The location and ambience of the moated castle are fantastic. This could have been turned into a hotel instead of a youth hostel. The rooms, the cleanliness and the meals are at a good level, as you would expect from youth hostels. What clearly clouds this very good picture is the facility's service philosophy. We were there with a group of 50 on a very warm weekend in August and we were not given the opportunity to keep drinks cold in any way. This means there were warm non-alcoholic drinks for the children and warm beer and wine for the adults. At 30 degrees plus that's a very big downer! 6 years ago - on our last visit - we were provided with an entire cold room! This development is regrettable.
