A bit inconspicuous from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised. Lovely decorated. Service was friendly and the food was excellent. Thank you for the nice stay.

Terrible service, just don't stop!My partner and I were on a bike tour and wanted to fortify ourselves with a small snack and something to drink for the onward journey.The first impression of the inn was positive, as the location seemed very cozy (large tables under the linden trees and apparently well attended). The visitors later turned out to be the staff (plus friends and family?).After we sat down, we first clarified whether payment could be made with a debit card since we didn't have any cash with us. The waitress assured us that it wasn't a problem. There was also the EC card symbol on the entrance door.When looking through the menu, it turned out to be difficult to find a suitable snack, as 95% of the inn's menu was meat dishes, although we are vegetarians. Of course, there is no obligation to offer vegetarian dishes (except salad), we already know this from rural regions. In such cases we can usually resort to supplements. Here, too, we asked for a side dish (according to the menu you can choose one of five potato side dishes for each meal), but our request was denied in a very unfriendly and uncustomer-oriented manner by an employee sitting at the next table. Quote: “It wasn’t right!”.We understand that special requests cannot be easily accommodated at peak times, but in this case we were the only guests and the staff seemed more concerned with themselves than with the well-being of the guests. Here, too, we are aware that this could be a well-deserved break for the employees, as they will probably be working hard the rest of the time.So we just ordered a drink, which was brought to us quickly.The service ended just as modestly as it began. No waitress came to our table when we had finished drinking to ask about any further requests or payment. During our entire stay, the staff sat two tables away and had no interest in us.When we finally wanted to pay, the employee, who had previously denied our request to eat, said to our waitress so loudly that we could hear it that we could only pay in cash. Our waitress then asked us across two tables if we could pay in cash. My partner replied that we could only pay with a debit card, as had already been clarified in advance. An EC payment was then no longer a problem.You can only advise against moving your break or even overnight stay here, as there seems to be no awareness of guests and you don't feel very welcome.If there is a response from the owners to this review, we will assume that we are to blame for the inn's poor service (see other responses from the owners to negative reviews on Google and Booking).We are aware of our guilt?!?

We have a mobile home on August 27th, 2023 (Description: The mobile home features 1 separate bedroom and 1 bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. Guests can benefit from a terrace and garden views. The unit offers 3 beds.) at the: Restaurant and Holiday farm Zu den Linden booked. There was no cancellation option, in the event of a cancellation, change or no-show the full booking amount will be charged.We arrived at the accommodation around 5:45pm and were shown to a small wooden cabin with three beds. The bathroom turned out to be a shared bathroom in another building. When I commented that we had booked a mobile home with a bathroom, I was told that there was no such thing here. We put some items in the cabin and I pulled up the booking confirmation. With the booking confirmation I went back to the restaurant to complain. The owner was called over and was immediately very rude. “What would I expect for €50? There is no luxury accommodation for that and if I don't like it, I can leave again." When I then said she could return the amount I had paid and we would leave, she refused. We should contact Booking.com for this. When I realized that offering something that didn't exist and taking money for it without returning it was fraud, she completely freaked out and yelled at me to leave the property. I went back to the cabin and tried to reach Booking.com there. Customer service could only be reached in writing and has not responded (so far). After a while the landlady, accompanied by her husband, stormed up shouting that we should disappear. She passed us into the hut and started throwing our things through the door onto the ground in front. When we picked up our things, she closed and locked the door to the hut, even though there were still bags in the hut. After our protest, it was unlocked again and we were able to take out our items. We then found another accommodation about 60km away.

EDIT: Review from summer 2022 that was blocked, probably because I wrote the name of a well-known mosquito repellent spray. So posted here again in the hope of helping all travelers and also the nice guests.The traditional village inn has a total of four wooden huts for cyclists, which complement the range of rooms. Two cabins are close to the main building, two other smaller ones were built in 2022 at the end of the lawn.I had one like that. Very idyllic, you can swim in the lake. However, it is also a few meters more to walk to the main building, where the sanitary facilities are located. The huts are well equipped except for running water and toilets. Outdoor seating area available. There are enough sockets for cell phones and bicycle batteries.Almost directly on the lake: mosquito spray should not be missing in your luggage. Mosquito protection will be installed on the cabin's windows, I was told. - Both the warm cuisine and the breakfast were delicious and plentiful.There is only a shower and a sink in the laundry area. Therefore there is a bit of congestion at peak times. This is a bit annoying because you'll be on the road longer anyway because of the longer route from the lower cyclist huts.

A wonderful meal, a beautiful rustic restaurant and fast, friendly service

The two of us had booked a mobile home for one night. That was something different. On top of that, it is quiet. In the evening we had dinner. The price-performance ratio is right and the staff is very friendly. When we asked where we could have breakfast, we were recommended Kanu-Hecht in town, where we can order for the next day in the evening until 6 p.m. There is also swimming access to the lake. We'd love to come back.

Very nice little country inn where you can have peace and quiet with direct access to the swimming lake.

I think it's a very nice place for families

Simple, yet friendly and orderly economy. Home-style food, quick and tasty. The previous registration worked promptly.We also talked to the operators, which makes things more personal. Gladly again.
