We were able to spend a little time here during the fall holidays and will definitely be back. This family-run Familotel is a pearl in the middle of the wonderful nature of the lake district. The direct access to the lake and the seemingly endless forest invite you to experience nature up close. Here, emphasis is placed on the small details and wishes are fulfilled immediately. The owners are often present, which increases the hospitality.ROOM: very pleasantly furnished. Refrigerator, changing table and heat lamp are some of the amenities. Very good WiFi reception. The mattress is a bit sagging, there is no safe, but that's complaining on a high level, I always felt very comfortable. Cleaning was carried out every two days; if desired, it would have been possible more often.FOOD: Breakfast, lunch, café and dinner, buffet four times a day are a challenge for the figure. In contrast to many other hotels, the food here impresses with class rather than quantity. There is always something for the children...DRINKS: All house wines, beers and soft drinks are also included in this Familotel. The wines are of good quality. There is a large selection of bottled beers with and without alcohol and Guinness and Pilsner on tap. Coffee specialties are available from morning to night.CHILDREN: The child care is a dream, the little man felt very comfortable. You quickly noticed that a lot of effort was put into this, more than in many other family hotels. There should be a maximum of 15 people in the small swimming pool, but this was never a problem. A highlight is the slingshot for the bathing suits. The sauna is also fantastically beautiful and very private with 90-minute private slots.Pony riding, boating and lots of games loosen up the day.I didn't even look at my travel guide and left the car parked for seven days, that speaks for itself...

We spontaneously stayed there for 1 night with the children. We were all very excited about everything. Rooms top, food top, swimming pool top, staff top and surroundings top. And very friendly, nice hosts. We will save for next year and would love to come back.

A sophisticated hotel concept to help guests big and small have a great holiday, rooms designed down to the last detail, a table reserved for the duration of the stay, attentive and helpful staff always and everywhere. The children's club is highly recommended, the food is delicious, a fridge stocked with beer/beer mix and water is always accessible. Swimming pool is very nice with a slide and bathing times for each family to be entered into a list, so it is not full. For wine drinkers, wine in selected varieties, also available to buy for home.We won't be coming back, we wish you all the best and stay healthy everyone!

Since our return trip, our son (3 years old) has been getting up every morning full of joy and asking if we are finally going on vacation to Happy again today. I think that says it all about how great this vacation was! 😀The hotel complex is great. Everything is child-friendly, fenced in, manageable thanks to the “only” 40 rooms. There is so much for small children to discover and experience that there is no need for long excursions. The older children were all able to move and play independently and freely. There was no need to worry about them getting lost somewhere. The food was absolutely high quality, delicious and incomparable with other hotel buffets/large kitchens - it was as tasty as in good restaurants. It was also great that we could eat outside and keep an eye on the children in the play area. The HappyClub (childcare) is very loving and has a great program. The only point of criticism: I found the building next door with most of the hotel rooms to be a bit dark. Our room smelled a bit musty. But everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and we were only in the room to sleep anyway, so everything was ok.There aren't too many options for parents. Aqua Zumba and sauna. But just doing nothing and relaxing was also quite pleasant 😉Our conclusion: Our son loved it. We have never had such a relaxing holiday with children. We will be back definitely!

Now the vacation has been over for a few days and we have let all the impressions and experiences that we took with us sink in. What a great experience, vacation at Rookhus! From the first minute we felt comfortable and at home. The entire Rookhus team, whether reception, kitchen, service or in the Happy Club, gave us absolute relaxation with their always friendly and courteous manner. We were able to just let ourselves drift through the day with a clear head and a relaxed spirit, not least because of the great team at the Happy Club, whose loving nature ensured that we had a happy child at the breakfast table who was excited about their day to fill it with great and creative activities and thus gave us an unusual amount of time together! From morning to evening we were looked after, looked after and pampered; it was simply an all-round successful family holiday that young and old alike will enjoy for a long time. We can only wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Rookhus...and just thank you for the great time!
