Beautiful campsite in the hills of Dahn. Friendly owners. Plenty of toilets and showers even when the campsite is busy, and these are comfortable and clean enough (only strange thing is the toilet paper is outside the cubicles so you have to guess how much you need). The restaurant/terrace is a nice bonus. Campsite is peaceful even when quite full. Beautiful hiking and running straight from the pitch.

RUDE, AVOID IF YOU CAN! The extremely rude owner and staff can afford to be because of the location. But dealing with unfriendly people is not worth the location.Unclean toilets, mold, poor showers (no pressure, luke warm, broken), the only thing that has been upgraded in the last 20 years is the price! Expensive for what you get. The location allows the staff and owner to treat you like they want, them know you will come, probably only once, but there is always another gullible camper around the corner. Don’t be gullible, stay clear.Being laughed at was the final piece of the puzzle, I was not the only woman to be laughed at, don’t know if it was sexist or if the male campers got laughed at! The insider jokes and strange atmosphere/personality type made the whole three days a really bad experience.Have fun!!!

We had the pleasure to have a very nice pitch close to the forest. Some parts got more crowded when the weather got better, they could spread the guests out a little more. For those that like to walk in the forests: the tourist information centre in dahn has maps and routes of the area. A must have!A lot the walking tours can be reached on foot as well, for others you'll need some transport. The area has something for everyone, except party-animals.Don't expect to hear a lot of English but they do try to help you.Don't expect to be able to pay with cards, only cash works. The toilets are clean, the showers I went tk have a difficult to clean floor so it feels gritty all the time. I had nice hot showers but my girlfriend complained of fluctuating temperatures. I noticed different sanitary blocks have different pros and cons...We had a very nice stay even though it rained quite a lot.If we return to the area for a third time we might as well use this camping again

Nice quiet camping. Lots of hiking routes nearby. There is WiFi but it doesn’t work perfect. There are special places for people with dogs. The restaurant at the camping is delicious and cheap. There is a midget golf and a playground for kids. A swimming pool in 5 minutes walking. You can also order bread for the next morning which is really nice.

Lovely area. Facilities basic but adequate and clean. Staff friendly. We just stayed 1 night and enjoyed a bit if walking. If walking is your thing, this place is excellent with well marked trails through forest.

Facilities are plentiful and clean. Campsite is well maintained. The water park nearby is superb. My husband found that the staff weren't very friendly (after the first day). Good hiking trails all around.

This place is simply magical. In between these astonishing rock formations they have a very long row of wide camping spots. At night there’s even a free view of the Milky Way! ;) And the guy at the reception had one answer for everything: ‘Sure, don’t worry about it!’ And it’s a great spot to start some proper hiking or to discover some abandoned castles. All in all, would go back here every single year for a few days or as a stopover! One small suggestion: your power doesn’t have enough amps to keep a beer cold in the fridge.

This camp site is in the middle of a German forest, in a valley between sandstone cliffs. The grond was quite soft, coarse reddish sand - easy to fix down tent spikes. Most parts of the camp site are somewhat level but the entire site has an obvious rain flow. Check to see where the water would run before you pitch your tent! The facilities are okay - the toilets are cleaned daily - but seemed a bit sparse: only three showers in "our" block wit after all, there was always one free when I wanted a shower. So, apparently it was sufficient. HOWEVER, THE TOILET PAPER IS OUTSIDE THE TOILET STALLS! Do not forget this or you will be in trouble! The camp shop; bread and rolls are quite expensive and I didnt like the croissants much. It carries a small selection of essential camp side food, news papers and miscellaneous stuff but dont expect much. Service was friendly, althoug sometimes a bit grumpy and English was spoken by few. (Good thing I speak German! :)There is a minigolf course and a small playground. However, my kids spent most of their time in the surrounding nature. You see, the camp side has no fences, nothing to close off the site from the surrounding forest. And since there are great rock formations with little caves all around, the playground was not played in much. For my 8-year old son, that was a great confidence builder: close to the tent but still running free in a "wild" forest. The surroundings - there is a great swimming pool around the corner, the woods are fun, you'll find a small river to play in -very, very cold- and some nice little restaurants is the village. The camp site restaurant was OK to good, but that gets its own, separate review - it's run by a family, apart from the camp site.TL;DR: OK camp fite, nice wood, but very quiet area. Go here for peace and quiet, not for excitement. Had a good time but probably won't be back.
