Basic Hostel with a Riverfront LocationPension Doren offers a no-frills, budget-friendly stay in a fantastic location right by the banks of the Mosel River. Its proximity to the river makes it easy to find and provides a peaceful setting, which is arguably the best feature of this hostel. The room itself is exactly what you’d expect from a typical hostel—basic and functional, making it ideal for travelers who just need a place to crash for the night. The amenities are minimal, catering to those who don’t require much beyond the essentials. However, the availability of free public parking right in front of the hostel adds a nice touch of convenience.Breakfast at Pension Doren is a straightforward affair—pleasant enough to start the day, though nothing particularly memorable. It’s perfectly adequate if you’re not expecting anything extravagant.Overall, Pension Doren is a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers who value location over luxury. Its simplicity is balanced by its excellent riverside setting, making it a practical option for an overnight stay.

The hotel rooms are very basic, no welcome drink but breakfast was good. The reason for the one star is there was a young male waiter who was very rude and aggressive towards someone in our party, we found out the next day that he had also been very rude and aggressive towards another couple who only stayed one night, I can't recommend this hotel we didn't enjoy our stay here at all but for the beautiful area we would have been 😡🙁😕😕😟😞.

We stayed one night in April 2015 during the East holiday. We can't find any hotel available in Cochem, but it is just 10 min drive to Cochem. ||The room is a bit dated but it looks clean. The room has nice view of the river. …

We stayed for one night. The top floor rooms are very small and compact. Rooms are basic, a bit outdated but clean. No air conditioning or fans in rooms. No elevator so it will be two or three levels of stairs with lugguage. …

It's a simple but friendly hotel and value for money. Untill now we stayed here twice. In november and december 2011. In these months there is not much going on in this area and lot's of hotels are even closed. …

Some of the staff at this hotel do not understand that they are working in the hospitality industry. ||The hotel has tables and chairs across the road adjacent to a public carpark. …

Café Dören runs a pretty guesthouse directly on the Moselle. Highly recommended for Moselle hikers without high demands. The staff is great. The breakfast is down to earth and the rooms are clean. Class

Very small and outdated rooms. However, it fits the price. The shower was warm and the room was clean.Personally, I was warmly disappointed with the breakfast. The rolls were sticky and the orange juice was unpleasantly sweet and artificial. There was no buffet but a pre-set table.Overall, the price/performance ratio was okay. I still wouldn't stay here again.
