I recently stayed at The Selwyn Hotel in Richmond while on a solo business trip, and honestly, it was a refreshing change from the usual. The location is ideal – tucked away in a quieter part of Richmond, but still just a short walk to transport links and local amenities. Perfect balance of peace and convenience. The room itself was modern and cosy, though a bit on the smaller side. That said, it had everything I needed – clean, comfortable bed and plenty of character in the design. They’ve nailed the blend of contemporary style with that classic Richmond charm. What really stood out though was the staff. They were genuinely helpful and welcoming, which made the solo aspect of my trip far more enjoyable. All in all, a solid choice for anyone needing a peaceful, stylish stay in London, especially if you’re here on business like I was. Would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel, convenient location, nice staff. Would 100% stay here again when in Richmond. |Bed was cozy. Shower was good. Very clean. Stylish. No ac in the lobby but excellent ac in the room! |I used the smeg kettle each day. |It was surprisingly quiet considering it’s at a busy intersection and that Richmond is close to Heathrow.

I brought my family to London and we stayed at the Selwyn. It's a lovely hotel in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, cafes and stores in easy walking distance. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. …

We stayed for one night in September 2024.The location of the hotel was kinda convenient, about 7 minutes walk to the Richmond station and 10-15 minutes walk to Richmond Park.We were told that we had the largest room (The Selwyn). We were given the room located in the underground (room no. 102). It was tiny with a queen bed. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit soft. The bathroom is clean and has a bathtub. There's a desk and an iPad with which you can communicate with the reception. The complimentary water turned out to be sparkling water. But since we had already bought bottled water, we didn't bother to ask for a replacement. There's an iron and an iron table. But there's no safe. There's a coffee machine and a good selection of coffee capsules and tea.

Room and bathroom nicely appointed and clean. Location in Richmond is good.Had breakfast one morning. Don’t rate for the price. Pictures of breakfast are deceiving. No fruits or waffles as displayed in picture. No fruits to put on cereals. It didn’t seem that anything was topped up as options were empty. Bland assortment. Service was not great. They completely forgot to make our coffee after taking our order as we walked in. We had to ask toward the end of our breakfast. No one came to take or our order and we eventually got up and went to them ourselves.I had the French omelette with ham which was nice. Don’t rate overall. Take a walk and enjoy the local cafes.

The hotel has obviously been recently refurbished and to a high standard. It was very clean too. However, for what we paid I had higher expectations from this ‘boutique’ hotel. …

Great location, close to Richmond Village. Stayed here before a morning flight from Heathrow as I love Richmond and it’s still a quick trip to the airport. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was cosy, breakfast enjoyable.
