Booked a one night midweek stay through Hotels.com beacuse of its proximity to Heathrow T5. The online price without breakfast was very reasonable. I had read about using the pod from T5 to get to the hotel at a cost of £8 each way but instead opted to take the no.423 bus from stand 6 which was only £1.75 each way and stopped virtually outside the hotel.Check-in was quick and although I had booked a twin room I asked if it was possible to change to a double and that was arranged with no problem.The room was clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom spotless. A nice and comfortable, quiet stay. Only negative issues were the lack of a plug in the hand basin in the bathroom and no lift to my floor.In the morning I decided to pay the advertised £15 for breakfast but when I arranged it at reception I was only charged £12. Breakfast itself was good with an excellent choice of cooked and continental options plus you can watch the aircraft landing or taking off.Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 1 night before a flight early in the morning. I was in a pod outside. Basic & tired furniture, but it was okay for what I needed.|The food in the sports bar was very nice. I have vegetarian pizza & it was very tasty. Best pizza I've had for a long time.

The Thistle is the perfect location when flying from T5; the electric pods to get there and back are so easy and great fun. I received a warm welcome at check in and found the foyer area to be extremely nice. My room was excellent, very clean and more than enough for what I needed. The restaurant was beautifully refurbished with amazing views of the runway with planes landing literally every minute. The food was really tasty and well presented. The service was excellent. Sitting on the terrace after dinner watching the planes was lovely on a very warm, sunny evening. Breakfast too was really well prepared with quality ingredients; great service too. I would highly recommend The Thistle given the excellent value it offers and the ease of getting to and from the terminal. Cannot fault the hotel in any way, shape or form.

Location is perfect, always stay here due to the easy access to the pods for T5. The rooms are really dated however they do the job, they have upgraded the bar area of late and done a grand job of the new sports bar, perfect if you like plane spotting too as they have a outdoor rooftop seating area that faces the runway. The food was amazing

Excellent value for money as an airport hotel. I wouldn't stay here if I was exploring London, but that's not its function. Easy to get to from Terminal 5, and back to Terminal 5 via the Pod driverless taxi system. Works really well and very simple to use.My bed was comfortable and there was AC and a TV. Complimentary tea and coffee and mineral water. Good shower and loo. Important at my age!!Pleasant helpful staff.Recommended.

Purchased as a stay and park from holiday extras. The experience was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequate for a night, and you couldn't hear the planes at all. The rooms could do with a refresh as they are a little dated in decor, especially the bathrooms, but all functional as expected. The only real grip is the cost of the items in the shop. There is a petrol station just up the road next to McDonald's that are far more reasonable.

Ideal for a budget pitstop local to the airport.Room was fairly basic and a tad dated but for most part clean enough. Bathroom tap needed a bit of a polish and shower curtain had seen better days but otherwise fine. Was a nice temperature with air con on which was great as was quite a warm night. Staff extremely obliging and helpful. Thought by London standards was decent enough value for money.We asked for a cot for our child prior to our arrival and this was ready, already sorted for us when we got there with no issue. Pod system offers convenient transit option to airport if needed. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment as to food.Hotel is directly under v loud incoming planes but with good sound insulation means it sounds like muffled/distant thunder. Partner and I both got a good night's sleep.

This hotel was easy to get too, take bus 423 from zone 6 in terminal 5, £1.75 , takes less than 10mins. It drops you in front of the premier inn, its stop no2, the thistle is over the road. Check in was easy. The hotel looks and feels dated with an unpleasant smell in the corridors. There are only two floors with no lift ask for ground floor if you have heavy cases. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. There is complimentary tea and coffee. The complimentary toiletries were amazing, loved the zero brand. The shower was hot and powerful, the towels had seen better days but it was adequate for 1 night. I didn't eat in the hotel but the Mac Donalds is in walking distance, and there is a kebab/Turkish rest further down but its cash only. You can get the bus back or the hoppa from the premier inn or take the heathrow pods. I took the bus back which runs roughly every 20mins. I was flying from terminal 3, and probably I would stay here again.
