We stayed in Rochester Hotel for 3 nights. We had a great stay. The hotel has been recently renovated and we booked the garden facing room (photos attached). It was really quiet and there was no disturbance of any kind. The staff was friendly and helped us with our luggage movement across the hotels and to our rooms.Their entry and exit is through Wellington Hotel but it’s not a problem to walk through the hotels.

Important edit regarding reply below at the end please read fullyThe location is excellent, but the noise from ongoing maintenance was disruptive. I was assigned a ground floor room adjacent to the maintenance area, which resulted in significant noise. I chose this hotel for its proximity to an exam center, hoping for a calm environment despite the higher cost. I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you need a quiet atmosphere.Important edit;No one contacted me regarding this or for any room changeI hope this is just a mistake in your reply!!Also I already checked out and exam is done so no need for another room or offerThe reason for the feedback is to improve service for future and not to reply to me with false information

Had a great stay. Our room was recently renovated, so was very nice. It was a bit of a walk from the Rochester end to the Wellington end to go to the restaurant. Great location and lovely beer garden. I found the staff very friendly and helpful moving bags etc.

This hotel is run by liars and thieves. Absolute scam artist. I booked a stay with them not under the awareness that they are undergoing renovations. The only reason I am staying in a hotel is because my home is undergoing them as well. I know you have to keep up with the facility and need to make improvements, but false advertising and lying to the customer is unacceptable. They have stated multiple times that they are under renovation during my phone calls but refuse to refund my $3500+ dollars for my stay. Two of their managers admitted to undergoing construction at this time and their reservation department refuses to accept responsibility. I have the phone call recording to prove it. If they continue to lie and not refund my stay I will be taking them to court and the public will be able to see how awful of a hospitality company and how big of scam artist they really are. Be aware booking any stay with them.

I stayed at this hotel, However, wasn’t greeted by the reception staff when I first walked in. The hotel is undergoing a lot of renovation.I ordered room service, however my option traces wasn’t ever collected from my door, I went down to breakfast requested the items That I wanted on my room service menu, but they wouldn’t even allow Weetabix. I have made an official complaint to the Hotel And the email response was an apology, Stating that we gave your breakfast for free (A croissant)The shower was nice and powerful and warm, The bed was quite comfortable. But the room itself was dirty finding multiple hairs in the bath and the sink was just not acceptable. This is simply not a four star hotel.

I had high hopes for this hotel, given its reputation and prime location on a quiet street in Victoria, close to numerous pubs, shops, and businesses. However, my stay was far from the experience I anticipated.First and foremost, the hotel was still undergoing renovations, which were quite disruptive and not communicated beforehand. This significantly marred the ambiance and comfort I expected from such an establishment. While the staff were generally helpful, other aspects of the service were disappointing. For instance, there were two bottles of water in the room upon arrival, but they were never replenished during my stay. No glasses included. This lack of attention to detail is not what one would expect from a supposedly 4-star hotel. Similarly, the tea and coffee facilities were far below the standard I had anticipated.Overall, my experience was underwhelming on multiple fronts. The hotel's supposed prestige did not match the reality, leaving me quite disappointed. I would rate it an average 3 stars, as it fell short of the quality and service one would expect from a top-tier establishment.

The room was really nice, The housekeeping staff were polite and friendly, just two little details made the stay not so great. The cleanliness of the room was not the best, The Ac full of apparent dust and weird noise during the night coming from the celling. For breakfast the staff looks not happy and don't even smile, the choice for the Continental breakfast a bit poor regarding the choice and no refill being done. When we paid £17.50 we expect a bit more for the breakfast. The location is amazing just when we paid a certain amount for the room we expect it to be worth it.

First of all the payment is done in a very strange matter. A reservation was done from my card for the total amount but when we got there we again needed to pay the total amount. so we paid twice until the reserved money got back to my card (this takes several days 5-10) Note also that you need to have a physical creditcard and not just a digital one! We had a small issue with the AC but we called the reception and after two hours someone came to our room and we learned that you just need to put it on 20c and than it’s okay and working. I would like it if there was a coffee and tea machine on the room for the mornings. There is a bar/restaurant in the hotel but this was alles closed or unoccupied. The Rochester hotel itself is under construction so you need to enter via the Wellington hotel on 71 Vincent Square. Furthermore we missed a lack of professional attitude from the staff, it seemed for us that most of the time they did not know what they were doing and it had a very unorganised vibe to us. A big plus for the room cleaners, this was done in a very good way! Once again, the location is super, the hotel itself is just okay, personally the price - quality ratio is not what we had expected.

My wife and I checked in on July 6th room 573 we got to the room a bit smaller than the picture but ok went to turn on ac it was blowing hot air. The front deck said they would have someone look at it tomorrow we were giving a fan to put in the window. Next morning since the room was so warm we left for the day came back about 430 someone did look at it but could fix it they called someone else he came to the room he couldn’t fix it. Going on day 3 we will be back about 5 and we will see they seem not to care but it is not a 4 star hotel as described will post a follow up when I return.

Do NOT stay here until after construction is finished. The rooms were clean and fine but the construction noise is real. Asked for a high floor hoping to escape it and suddenly this morning it’s right below me and then there was LOUD drilling in the breakfast area. Why on earth would you keep a hotel open through noise like this? On top of it, AC didn’t work after the first night and they sent someone to check it - or so they said - and nothing changed. I heard others complaining about the same. I got a queen standard room because it was within my work rate (still over 300 GBP a night which is madness) and there were NO extras whatsoever in my room…not even a glass for water. It was a bed, desk, the end. Maybe it’ll be good once it’s all spiffed up but sheesh…PLEASE close while you’re doing construction if you can’t contain it away from guests.
