I am changing my review. After our first night we requested a lower room as we had bad backs. We were gladly accommodated. The room was so much better. The breakfast was great both the continental and full English breakfast. …

I think the crew is helpful, and the location is good. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is fine. The condition of the rooms are as they are. The design is oldish, and a complete renovation would be urgent. You can hear and feel when the metro passes by underground. Also the water pressure and the hot water temperature are issues. However this is a 2* hotel, so the expectations should be accordingly, measuring price-value ratio.

Third and Final Stay - Disappointing Decline||This was our third and, unfortunately, final visit to this hotel, which we’ve stayed at over the years. …

Good location but that’s the only nice thing I can say. Staff were arrogant and unhelpful. They were happy to sit and watch an elderly lady drag a suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. You would think they would have had the decency to put her in a room downstairs. The attitude was they were doing you a favour renting you a room when you consider the number of hotels in the small area around this hotel. Do not recommend.

No lifts. 4 flights of narrow stairs. Arrived late to find only 1 towel in the room. We needed showers after hauling our luggage up 4 flights. No help was offered. We called to get towels were told we couldn't get them till morning. …

Ignore all the bad reviews you read about this hotel. I was worried about going after reading them but this hotel was lovely. We have stayed in about 5 other hotels in NYC and this is my favourite. …

Pros- Extremely clean rooms and comfortable beds. They have a fan in the room which helped with the heat. Pillows could be improved but the room itself was good.- Morning team’s customer service was great! They allowed us to leave our bags while we got breakfast as we missed the comp breakfast at the hotel. Warm and pleasant.- Location!!! Absolutely great location. Paddington is around the corner and so is St Mary’s Hospital. Really good place for whatever reason you are visiting.Cons- Afternoon and Night service was a bit lacking. No smile, no customer service, grunting, lack of basic communication. Luckily the service we got in the morning made up for it.- We ordered a room with two singles and a double, got two doubles. No explanation as to why when checking in.- Also when we informed staff when prepaying on the phone that we had a heavily pregnant woman, they acknowledged this and then still put us in the highest room, in the tallest tower, up 8 flights of stairs. It was a bit tough for her and no apology.- Water pressure in the shower was awful. The rain was stronger than the shower and got us cleaner. Seriously consider improving that in the room.

Spent 3 nights here, very tiny room with small bathroom that takes awhile for the hot water to come through but as I was solo was fine.Extremely well placed near Train Station, Buses & Restaurants. Staff were lovely very helpful both at reception & dining room.Yes you hear the noise of the trains but it didn’t bother me, bed comfortable with extra blanket if you feel the cold. Lovely few days.

The place is a dump. Reception area was dirty and unwelcoming. No lift to help with 4th floor haul of luggage. And the "free breakfast" advertised costs seven and a half pounds. Only good thing about this hotel is the location near Paddington.

Great location for access to tube, trains, and airport. Lots of good nearby dining options. Rooms are small but nice, but the steep stairs and erratic water heater (sometimes just providing a tepid, weak shower). Full English breakfast was good and the staff was helpful.
