Arriving at the hotel is a bit of a shock to the system as it is very tired - needs a lot of maintenance! The rooms themselves were comfortable and clean, recently painted which made the best of what was there on a budget. …

We arrived 2 hours early to Torquay & as with all hotels we stay in, we thought we’d see about checking in early, or at the very least, parking up & leaving our bags until checkout opened. …

Arrived early evening after telephoning to confirm on our way after a long drive. Upon arrival I noted my name listed twice at reception when checking in and enquired why. …

Since this hotel changed hands, it has gone downhill. It desperately needs updating. There's very little water pressure on the top floor- God help you if you need the loo. Same for Wi-Fi. …

We recently stayed in Maycliffe Hotel in Torquay and wanted to stay another night so we spontaneously booked this hotel for our last night as it was the cheapest. …

This hotel is run by a very friendly couple. I visited off season in March 2020 and was lucky to have had the hotel almost to myself for a week. Due to my early flight I was supposed to arrive before noon but it got canceled so I took the train and got there as late as 10.30 PM and still being welcomed and checked in by Debby. With a fantastic breakfast to start the day and good advice from her husband Wayne as to what to see and to avoid in the region, this was one of the best stays I had in the UK. Many thanks!

Very friendly and clean. Our room was ok, but the bathroom was better suited to size 10 people only. The breakfast was amazing; anything and everything you wanted. Smashing. You would need to be fairly fit, as is quite hilly to get to, but is close to town centre. Parking the car is tricky, with a sharp, steep turning into the hotel ground. Was just the job for a couple days rest bite.

This has the potential to be a good hotel but the owner is extremely rude and couldn't care about his guests. Rooms are never cleaned, towels not changed, bins not emptied or tea making replenished. …

Stayed here for 1 night. When booking it asked us what time we were arriving so we chose 11am thinking that must have been check in time, we were gravely wrong. …

Lovely hotel Wayne and Debbie make you feel very welcome. To get to the main part of town it was a 10 minute stroll so close enough to walk back but not too noisy from the town, The hotel is really nice and the breakfast is really good, loved the homemade yoghurt. It was our first time stopping there and will not be our last, If you haven't been to the area before Wayne has the best knowledge of where to eat and fun days out, so pick his brain in the morning over breakfast. The lady (sorry I didn't catch her name) who replaces the bits in the rooms was very helpful and nice. Our room was on the top floor and could just about see the sea from there, our bed was comfy and and at night it was quite, I'm a light sleeper and always worry about going away, but all was fine.We shall be back :)
