Stayed for 2 nights with friends and family to celebrate my sister's 70th. Our room was like an apartment and very comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful and I couldn't understand the negative reviews. We paid £45 a night and considering where it is and time of year, we thought this was cheap. We will definitely go back again

I stayed in this very pleasant, clean, and quiet hotel for almost a fortnight. Roy, the proprietor, is very helpful, kind, and accommodating. The hotel is within easy reach of both Torquay and Babbacombe. Both free parking as well as fast and reliable internet (WIFI) are available, and a good assortment of useful shops is also nearby. I have absolutely no idea why some people left negative reviews, but then again it takes all sorts to make a world. In any case, I can highly recommend this establishment and am very much looking forward to returning.

We love this hotel. No fuss, just plain simple hospitality. Rooms comfy, clean and roomy. Beds are amazing. Large isn't the word. Water heat in bathroom exceptional. Hotel is situated perfectly between Torquay and Babbacome. On good bus route. Roy the proprietor always willing to help.

놘 – Everything. It was nightmare.Room was dirty, it was dirties room which I saw in my life. Dust was everywhere, first what we had to do after arrive was cleaning all shelfs, desk, etc. Shower was dirty as well, lot of mould. Carpet was very dirty, socks were dirty straight away after couple of minutes. Dirty mugs, we used our own mugs.Hot water was available only few hours daily (7-11AM and 5-9PM). So if you would like to stay longer on the beach or in pub, you will have to shower in cold water or wait till next morning.Quite close to the beach, marina or city center but you will have to climb one or two miles up on your way back to hotel- it was nightmare as well, we had to use car every time. One Small Co-Op was close but it was very small and expensive. To closest Asda, Lidl etc you have 20 minutes by car or an hour walking and long way back climbing. We booked six nights but we left after 3 days because it was nightmare. We spoke with owner, but he doesn't care about us, also no chance to refund for ruined holiday.IT WAS WORTS HOTEL IN MY TRAVELING HISTORY.

Bit expensive for a very basic room and no breakfast. Room was reasonable space. I think it would improve his business and customers stay if he installed a mini fridge in the rooms for cold drinks on summer days. Bit of a strenuous walk back up hill if you nip to the shop. I noticed he was having bbq one night but never offered the use if we wanted to buy our own food, saving a long walk and expensive evening resterant. Just would have been nice when on tight holiday buget.

We was meant to go for 3 nights/ 4 days, we arrived and my partner had to clean the bathroom with baby wipes, the room was hot at night so had to sleep with the window open but kept you up because all you could hear was traffic from the main road at the bottom of the drive (like 30 yards away). Then the hot water is limited comes on for a few hours in the morning then a few hours at night. Why not just have it on alday (tight arse) .. We was meant to be meeting family for a meal at 6pm but the hot water doesn't come on till 5 then had to wait 10 to 15 mins for it to warm up so couldn't shower till 5.15 then my partner showered, then me and my partner had to get ready so didn't get to the meal till like 7pm so was real late coz the hotel doesn't have hot water altime. Sad really... Then the cherry on top was when... The rooms get cleaned every other day, which fare enough that's great, but when we go out to come back to a room that is meant to be cleaned and tidy and NEW towels and you find the same towel you've been using for the past 2 days just folded and hung on the shower. That was it we got our things and we left.. Asif the hotel doesn't give you fresh towels. How would Roy the owner like to use the same towel day in day out.... Its disgusting, I will never be returning to this hotel again and deffo will not be recommending it. We left the 2nd night and went to stop in the grand Hotel which is great, couldn't fault it.
