This pub has a friendly welcoming feel to it. We are on holiday and thought the name of the pub was brilliant and thought we would go for Sunday lunch. Roast beef dinner was perfect. Lots of different veg and tasty beef. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing. We are going back for lunch before we go home.

Had a Sunday meal. Location is great.Car park a bit small. We went in the recent bad weather and the dining area was 'slightly' drafty with all of the people coming and going. The food was wonderful. Esp. the French onion soup.Staff were friendly and helpful.Would go there again when next in the area.

Drove past this pub while sightseeing so thought we would stop for lunch. Very glad we did. It was a Monday lunchtime so very quiet but the food was excellent. Bangers and mash for me and scampi for the hubby. Did take a little while to come but not a problem. Would recommend but don’t know what it is like in the evening.

I had a lovely burger with chips, the burger was juice, fresh and made in house I'd say. The chips were very good with a satisfying crunch, I didn't have any beer as I was driving but they have a good selection. The only thing I didn't like was the cheese in the burger which was of relatively low quality and a tad weak in flavour. Overall 5*

The staff were all friendly and especially Kim the manager was lovely and very accommodating to all our needs and wants. She is a credit to the pub. Would definitely recommend well done to all the staff.

Just wow. The welcoming we received was great. Very attentive staff. We visited with friends. Approximately 12 of us. The staff rushed to set a table so we could all sit together. We then ordered some very reasonably priced food from the menu. The food took approximately 20 mins to arrive, this is a good sign that the food is being prepared, and not just thrown in the microwave. When the food arrived, it was very hot and very well presented. The taste was absolutely amazing. Real pub atmosphere and traditional food. The kids menu is very generous too. And would feed a not so hungry adult. The building is very well maintained, the bar and toilet very clean. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all.

This has for many years been one of our favourite places to go for a decent pub meal, however our latest visit left us very disappointed, the prices have always been the higher end but have alway been happy as the food was good. Our latest visit the food was over cooked ,poor quality and cold. They even managed to burn the eggs. We had hopped this was a one off so returned this week (Monday) hoping for better things again the food was disgusting. We have also had friends confirm the same. Not sure what’s changed but won’t be eating there again. It left us very disappointed as it’s been a favourite of ours for over 30 years.

Stopped off here after some river kayaking purely because of the name. It was a Sunday so a set menu. We didn't want much to eat and the lovely staff said that us sharing a main meal of fish and chips. The food was lovely, the batter was fresh and light. Fish lovely and the chips were perfect. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We live over 100 miles away but when next passing the area, we'll be stopping in.

Just 20 mins from Woodovis Campsite, offering a beautiful Sunday roast, throughly enjoyed by all of us. Sri Lankan carrot soup, roast beef and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream - absolutely fantastic. One course £15, two £20 and 3 for £25 - excellent value. Service was good. Setting is old and traditional, open fire etc. Malbec by the glass was also top notch! Thank you all
