I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. It is a bit tired, as others have said but my room was very clean,bed was comfy and it was SO quiet overnight,considering the hotel was very busy. Breakfast staff were cheerful and friendly. I would stay again.

The staff provided the uplifting memories for us. The building is possibly Victorian and there are plenty of stairs to test your mobility but the overall service and caring for guests belies the star rating of the hotel. …

If I could give this place no stars I would, this place is so out dated think the last time it was decorated was the 70's judging by the decor.It was like holidaying in a nursing home, food wasn't the best and there was no flexibility in meal times and the spoons were disgusting when using them all your could taste was the metal, had to go out and purchase my own spoons.The rooms needed updating, my room was just about bearable but another couples room was worse than mine. When in the rooms you can hear doors banging and on 2 nights the drunks coming from the bar downstairs woke me up shouting instead of talking quietly.If you want a drink from the bar make sure you have cash as they don't take card unless you spend £10.The hotel has a 2 star rating I wouldn't give it 1, wouldn't recommend this place and interchoice should be ashamed of themselves for sending people there knowing that the hotel is not upto standard, it needs closing down, gutting and refurbished, how those people work there is beyond me, horrible hotel avoid.

We came as a large group through work. My wife & i with some friends, then other colleagues & their families. What can I say, only a 2 star, major update needed, paintwork & overall re decoration. But, it was clean, the staff were outstanding. Very polite & helpful & Colin the barman, well, he went above & beyond, what a star, very funny man. Made our last night even more enjoyable. Food was good, nothing to moan about, quite a nice variety each day. Bar, very reasonably priced, plus happy hour 5 till 6, where most drinks were 1 /2 price, couldn't complain about that. Rooms, again, dated, but clean & have to be patient for hot water to come through. The main habour was only about 15mins (ish) walk away, some great places to eat & drink.

Good location, not far from all amenities, room basic but clean , for myself it was fine tho never tried the breakfast as it was too early for me , 8 till 9 am when you on holiday you want your breakfast a bit later. 9 till 10 would been better but that's my opinion

The hotel is situated near the town centre. It has free secured car parking at the rear of the hotel and has a roller door.|The rooms are very clean and has evening entertainment. The breakfast is very good including cereal, full English breakfast with tea or coffee. You can order an evening dinner if required.

Very shabby and dated.Reception staff are ok but some of the waiting staff have attitudes. Meals are 8.30am breakfast,you can't have cereal and juice as they are both starters.Dinner is 6.30pm,both meals are NOT flexible and they will not keep it for more than 5 minutes if you are late.Situated up the top of a hill,not good for people with mobility issues.The 2 singers were good .
