I've reviewed this hotel before but having just completed an almost 5 month stay on business I think it warrants a second mention. …

Always an excellent stay. Large spacious room which was a welcome move after checking in at Lockyers Quay where the room was dark, was alongside a very fast A road and it smelt of stale smoke. …

This is an extremely well run hotel. All the staff I encountered were very much 'people's persons', polite, professional and friendly. …

Lovely 3 night stay for birthday celebration. |Room very clean, bed and pillows very comfy.|Did not have breakfast but used bar for drinks. All staff polite and friendly. |Hotel in great location for everything.|Only things did not like was no window opening, and had to refresh tea/coffee at reception, but did not spoil our stay.

We have been staying here every few months for the past couple of years ,as we travel a long way to visit family and grandchildren. This is a diamond of a place. The welcome is so warm an friendly. The rooms are spotless, you will definitely have a good sleep in these beds. Food is amazing, the chef whose name is chrissie knows how to cook, full English breakfast top notch, evening meals simply beautiful, try the gammon, cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. We eat here, such quality in chefs cooking and of course great price. High 5 to Christie. Terrie who is the manager made us feel so welcome, she was so friendly, helpful and professional, when our grand babies stayed overnight, she made sure all our needs were met. Simply perfect. Terrie even suggested car park behind the theatre , which was only £13.00 for 24 hours. It takes special people to make you feel so comfortable, and they are all here at Derrys Cross Plymouth. We shall see you all again in October. Xx

Probably one of the best P Inns I have stayed in for a very long time as I now try and avoid them due to going downhill however the room was lovely, the evening food was great with plenty of gluten free options and the breakfast was perfect! I have to say the staff were super friendly too and very helpful so top marks all round.

The hotel's location is excellent, in the city centre, close to the main tourist attractions, in an area well served by public transport and buses, and not far from the train station. The room was spacious, with good noise insulation, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing for a good night's sleep and rest. The check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The reception staff was always helpful. However, the service could and should be improved.Regarding the room, it's hard to understand why it's necessary to ask for it to be cleaned every day. If you don't want a cleaning service, just put a sign on the door that you don't want to be disturbed. In our four-day stay, we asked for cleaning on the third day. When we arrived, we realised they had only left us one bath towel, so we had to ask for another at reception.During our four-day stay, at breakfast on two days, there was no butter, only sunflower margarine, and, on one, there was no fruit salad. There were also no cold cuts - cheese and ham - something basic usually available in all the hotels I've been to.

Rooms were really clean & well presented. Beds were really comfortable. Had both evening meal and breakfast and both were really enjoyable and plenty of options at breakfast time. All staff were friendly and polite would stay 100% stay here again.
