We had a small but comfortable room with ensuite & a good shower. The breakfast is generous & good quality; the bacon was especially good. John & Sandra are delightful, friendly & helpful hosts. We were able to eat outside on the terrace which was lovely. Recommended.

The host was welcoming, friendly and professional. The bedroom was simple but had all the facilities including hot chocolate sachets, which is a rarity. Bathroom was clean, however there was a whiff of urine around the toilet. …

Had a two night stay at this B and B recently under new management.|New owners warm and welcoming but I think are needing to try to catch their breath and look at some of the finer details of the establishment. …

Our room was extremely comfortable, clean and modern with a big spacious bed. We brought along our dog who was catered for by allowing him to join us for breakfast including outside on the terrace. The breakfast was superb and very filling with a wide range of choices and very well cooked and presented. Finally our hosts John and Sandra were extremely warm, kind, welcoming and helpful with recommendations for the local area. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return should we be in the local area again.

After a few arduous days of camping and cycling through Dartmoor National Park, it was an absolute pleasure for us to spend an evening at the Great Grubb. Room was super cute, very comfortable and clean, and we loved the flowery back garden too. John and Sandra are incredibly friendly hosts and made sure we had a safe place to keep our bikes overnight. Breakfast was fantastic too and John very kindly made them vegan and vegetarian for us. Highly recommend a stay and next time we need a room in Totnes, we'll look no further. Many thanks, John and Sandra, and all the best until next time. - Paul & Valentine

2022: Following our wedding we decided to stay at the great grub and we were not disappointed. The hosts, John and Sandra were extremely welcoming and friendly. The place/room was cleaner than All the hotels/B&B's we previously stayed at. The hosts had a good knowledge of the area. A wide choice of breakfast food. John and Sandra made us to feel we were the only guests there and we had the sense that they made the other guests to feel the same way. We will definitely be returning at some point. UPDATE: 2023: returned for a longer stay. Once again, we were not disappointed. Hosts still extremely welcoming, very friendly and truely looks after you. They definitely have the right personality and approach to being outstanding hosts. They could teach others a thing or two in running a b&b! As for the breakfast, personally I've never had better. We found the location is more or less central to many places of interests. Brilliant, lovely place to stay. Thank you Sandra & John. Hope to see you again!!!

Amazing couple who treat you more like friends. Our stay was perfect and we would love to go back. Comfortable beds, clean, lovely garden to sit in. Sandra and John are very much gardener's. The care and passion for this place really shows. Fabulous breakfast. Great advice on sightseeing. Not far to walk to the town and some other attractions. Off road parking. I cannot rate highly enough.

I stayed here for a short midweek break. This is a brilliant place, and the host's John and Sandra were incredibly helpful. They couldn't do enough for me, recommended some lovely walks and the breakfasts set me up for the day. My room was great, everything I needed was provided and the shower was good. It took me about 15 minutes to walk to town but I do walk fairly quickly. I considered this excellent value for money and would definitely recommend.
