Bit of a hill to climb up on way back from sea front. Meals were buffet style plus good range of times so you could eat when suits you. Entertainment wasn't bad. Only real issue was how hard the seats were in Entertainment room.

Very nice hotel, just below the Derwent and part of the same TLH group.I've not been here ( in the Victoria) for a couple of years but little has changed. The staff are still amazing and helpful. The wonderful glazed roof over the dining room could do with a good clean (to restore it to its former glory). The car parking can be awkward, and when I was there a couple of inconsiderate drivers were restricting spaces, blocking access, for others to use. Many rooms have been upgraded in recent years. Some of the public room carpets are showing very obvious signs of wear. And need replacing soon. All in all, a very good hotel. Good views over the bay area. Close to railway station.

There’s no doubt that the hotel is more than tired and needs a lot of money spent on it. I doubt that will happen as the amount needed would take an age to recoup. …

Very old fashioned and tired looking . Bathrooms looked like they were from the 1970s ! No air conditioning and extremely hot everywhere. Disability access was very poor , only one lift to the bedrooms . Had to go to the hotel next door to access the entertainment areas as there were too many stairs in our hotel

I have stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago my stay was OK, the food being the best part of this hotel. On this occasion, we stayed as a coach party with Ogdens Coaches.  …
