Staff very friendly and helpful, and this hotel is so convenient for visiting the city centre, as Exeter Central station is directly opposite. The building is gorgeous inside, and obviously in bygone days a grand residential property. …

Three nights at this lovely hotel. Location was excellent. Church was amazing. And the hotel staff very attentive to our needs. Would definitely recommend and come back again. Exeter is a wonderful place to visit, quirky shops and lovely lanes for obscure presents.

My partner and I stayed here for a few days and we enjoyed it, the bed was nice and comfy, the room was slightly hot but we did have a fan in the room which we used. The bathroom was nice as was the shower, the room had everything in it that we needed. We had breakfast and evening meal which was very nice. The staff were very professional and friendly. The history of the hotel was very interesting to us. The hotel looked very beautiful inside and we would stay here again. Really had a good time.

Our local football club organised a black tie fundraising event at this venue. |The two course meal was good and that was about it. The bar to our function had only Blue Light lager on draft and eventually after a pipe change Guinness. …

I was a little worried given some of the reviews here but the price and location were good so we booked for one night anyway. I needn’t have worried. …

Attended what used to be one of Exeter’s premier hotels for a social event with friends how sad it is that standards of service have dropped to such a poor levels. …

I frequently stay here with work and all the staff are absolutely lovely. They all know me by name now and are friendly when I arrive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Some of the rooms can be noisy but I think it's just due to being an old building. It can get really warm in the summer but the staff are always around to give you extra fans for the room if needed. Food is great and the bar is good. The location is ideal for the centre and opposite the central station.

Stayed in privilege king room 133 last night. On a rail holiday and it was a useful stopover as right opposite Exeter central station. Had some Accor points accumulated so room was very good value. …

Stayed here for 3 good nights. Service was top-notch, very helpful staff. I got the single room, yet still spacious enough. Amenities were complete, but only giving the room a 4/5 due to the creaking floorboards. The lobby has got a vintage vibe to it whereas the room was I should say a contemporary look. Hotel is conveniently just opposite the train station and pretty close by the high street. My room faces where the nearest pub is, so it was a bit noisy at night. I have only tried their classic house burger and it was so good. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely recommend it.
