The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. At £120 a double and £125 a twin, you would expect at least a clean room. It was so filthy, I had to buy antihistamine as I was so itchy. The rooms were not cleaned at all. …

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!Some of the worse service I've ever experience over an hour wait on food on a quiet Wednesday is ridiculous! Then when the food finally came our order was wrong but after the hour wait we was just to hungry to care, but every single one of our meals had something wrong with it the burger was charcoal black and the eggs was awfully burnt. No pride in any of the food! Then when ordering a coffee after food had to remind them 3 times we was waiting for it. 2 coffees then took half and hour. Also no baby changing facilities at all, which in this day and age seemed a joke for a big pub like this. The staff was rude and just took no pride in there work. Don't waste your time or money and go somewhere else. AWFUL.

We received a warm welcome from Lucy who directed us to our very clean and comfortable room. There was plenty of hot water, a chocolate topped the clean linen and towels. We booked for an evening meal following a very good selection of drinks in the bar. The menu was excellent and we would recommend the food without any reservations. Delicious, well presented and home made. The room was not particularly noisy even above the public bars and a good night's sleep was had after the customers departed. Breakfast was very tasty and the full English was well prepared and presented. The staff were busy but super attentive and very helpful. We are already looking forward to another visit but for longer next time. There is so much beautiful countryside to see around the area. It was a lovely relaxing weekend break.

The food has gone downhill since Emma left. Overcooked chicken which was difficult to cut. Cold chips and cold plates. Manky salad that was days old. Emma's was always very fresh.|Beer was good hence the two stars. The lady behind the bar was very good and organised a refund on one meal

I had a lovely stay at the White Bear. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms are dated but just as you would expect from an old building, however the roof was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and we had a great meal in the bar in the evening. No complaints from me and I look forward to staying there again in the future. Thank you 😊
