Stayed here for my daughters wedding , we were supposed to be picked up in a taxi that we all paid a lot of money for only to be kept waiting 50 minutes after the wedding had finished to get back to the hotel. On arrival to the hotel I went to the room and it stunk don’t get me wrong it was clean. We were told we could all go back to a room with music. Everyone was not there as taxis that were arranged by this hotel hadn’t arrived and people had gone to bed this was supposed to be a great ending to a great day the bar man wanted to go home as it was late I got into bed and the sheets were damp as the room stunk. In the morning we went down for breakfast and had to wait nearly an hour for breakfast , we left lots of sweets jars there and never got them back. We have complained and have been ignored. As we had to get a different taxi back and pay twice. I advise anyone that wishes to stay here to be very careful there are better places in Stratford to stay. We feel very disappointed and let down by it all. Please avoid. Massively disappointed and let down with the aftercare and lack of empathy to the situation.

Whata shame! I stayed here in a beautiful room and had a gorgeous meal. My travel is all booked by an agency for me. On arrival the staff were amazing, gave me a great room and some tips for what to eat. Dinner was amazing and I slept well. In the morning I checked out and all was sweetness and light. When my credit card bill came, I had been charged twice for the room. Honest mistake I thought and contacted the hotel for a refund for one of the rooms. They absolutely refused and told me I was a “no show” for one of the bookings. At no point during check in or out had they told me that there were two reservations in my room. There were only a few guests, so they had not been deprived of an income from another guest. I had expected that they would recognise an honest computer error and refund me. But no, they have shown themselves to be greedy and unreasonable. I was planning a lovely weekend there with my wife but their refusal to correct an honest mistake has turned my view from one of a great hotel with amazing staff to one of a place where money is everything and customer service comes a distant second. Be warned!

We stayed here on our Wedding night and booked the Taxi Service all included, we booked around 16 out of the 22 rooms we had available. It wasn't the cheapest but it was a special occasion so of course we thought it was worth it.We had a pre-meeting the with manager so everything ran as smooth as possible on the day. We asked for 3 taxi's one for immediate family and 2 for everyone else, only two taxi's were sent. We pre-booked taxi's for a set time to be picked up, they only sent one so we had to wait 40 mins for it to come back and collect us! You're probably thinking this isn't the hotels fault, however it gets worse... Arrival back at the hotel, we were told the bar was 24/7 and we could play music to be told on arrival the licence for music can't be used after 11pm and around 4-5pm we were asked when we were leaving as the guy behind the bar wanted to go home!! We went to our room, the 'honeymoon suit' that absolutely stunk of sewerage, it wasn't just our room there were others and others had damp bedsheets. It's a real shame as the rooms really are nice and clean. After speaking with the manager the aftercare towards our above feedback has still not been dealt with and it really did put a dampener on the end to our wedding night, I would not recommend and I'd never stay here again!

What a difference a few years makes. Stayed here 4 years ago and was impressed, but came back last week and the service levels are now absolutely appalling. The hotel, for reasons unknown put a block on your payment card for the value of the room, and then take a second payment, thus causing 2 payments to come out. Numerous calls and emails to the rude lady on the front desk have resulted in us still being 200 pounds out of pocket 2 weeks after our stay. The hotel have been extremely unhelpful and anyone ever possibly considering staying here should look elsewhere. A stay in a premier inn would be a million times better than giving these incompetent people your money. The rooms themselves are ok, the food is disgustingly overpriced for the very poor quality of ingredients and if you have any food allergies then I would definitely not trust their restaurant. All in all, after staying in hotels all over the uk and most of Europe, this hotel is at the bottom of the pile for service, quality and experience. Save your money and don't stay here.

Stayed here for my wedding, Minty the Manager promised everything, but this was all broken promises and lies. A luxury taxi company was arrange to take us to the venue, Family first then friends. 1 Taxi mini bus turned up not luxury at all 1st lie as there was supposed to be multiple taxis. The Rooms were nice but with a horrible smell of sewage. Again more lies Minty stated they were not aware of the smell? Even though all the windows in the rooms had been opened to try to eliminate the smell, this did not work the room stunk! Next lie the bar is 24hrs, when we came back from the wedding, the bar was open we wasn’t allowed any kind of music not even background music. Good job we took a speaker to save the day. To my shock horror after been told this was a 24hr bar, the staff member comes over to me at 1:30am and asks when I’m going to sleep because he wants to go home. Bare in mind the bar is still full. Another lie and scam is the car park, They stated all guest need to pay £5 parking because the carpark is privately owned. This is another lie the carpark is owned buy the hotel when you look on land registry. stated in another review this hotel and staff just want every penny no matter how the customer service comes across. I will be reporting this one to trading standards as this is a scam.the final nail in the coffin was when the taxis didn't turn up to pick us up, imagen a luxury taxi company "Unicorn cars" Been 40 minutes late to pick you up at a wedding pre-arranged and $40 per person for a 15 minute trip there an back.Hotel of SCAMERS AVIOD, don not use this hotel is my recommendation to anyone thinking about it.Another heads up they will take a £75 deposit off you.

We had a really lovely stay at the Burnside, I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel was spotlessly clean and in very good order. We were visiting friends who live close by, so the location was great for that visit, but not so good if you wanted to walk into the town centre.

We recently spent 5 days at the Burnside Hotel located in the lovely village of Shottery and had an enjoyable stay. Our room was very comfortable, with all of the amenities we needed for our time there. The hotel staff was respectful, courteous, and very helpful whenever we had any requests or questions. They helped make our stay smooth and relaxing. The location of the hotel can't be beat - it's a quick 5 minute walk from the historic Anne Hathaway's Cottage and surrounded by the beautiful Shottery village. It was also easy to access the town center. The onsite dining options were a highlight of our stay. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the broad selection available. I personally loved the Sunday Roast and Curry Night meals. There were lots of options whether we wanted a full meal or light snack.Burnside is a must stay for anyone visiting the area, we will definitely be staying there again!
