Such a good experience. Service was excellent, and the breakfast is the best I've had in a hotel for about 4 years! The landlord and landlady are clearly working really hard to make this an integral part of the village.Lots of locals, lovely to see a busy pub.Good menu of well cooked pub food, much better than your average pub.Prices are very reasonable especially for the rooms. Being a 15th Century Inn some of the rooms are "rustic" so don't expect modern chain Hotel. But if you want modern chainHotel expect to pay at least 60% more for your room, and get 60% less charm and care.If you have realistic expectations for a old village pub, you should be thrilled. We'd highly recommend it.

The room was nothing like the pictures, or maybe it was several years ago! There was no main light, just lamps, the carpet was worn and very stained. …

Spent 3 nights here as attending a wedding nearby. Great welcome by landlady and landlord, who is also the chef. Both made my wife and I and our friends feel more like friends than guests. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food from breakfast to evening meals - all freshly made with many local ingredients. The chocolate sauce with the brownie was so good! All the people we encountered in the bar were friendly and made us feel at home. Our room had lovely old beams and a very comfy bed. Lots of hot water with the shower. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Lovely ancient looking pub with great beer and proper job pub food. I stayed the night as stayed for a wedding at Cider Mill Barns and was made to feel incredibly welcome. Looking forward to coming back for a spot of cycle touring at using it as a base. Warm and welcome. What more could you want.
