It's a 3* hotel so i don't expect anything fancy. We have stopped here twice in the last year. It's due a good freshen up the last room we had was starting to look tired. Bed is reasonably comfy and clean. Good powerfull showers. My main criticism is the pitifull amount of tea, coffee and milk left in the room. Not enough for a drink in evening and morning. The communal areas had a bit of a stale smell. Lastly there no sockets next to the bed.Breakfast is available in the pub till 10. It's OK you get access to a simple continental and a cooked breakfast for £10. Morrisons cafe is about 5min walk away if you wanted other options.

We had our wedding here on the 25th July. I can't praise Emma and the crew that helped her highly enough. Nothing was an issue, they did everything and more to make sure everything was perfect on the day. The food was absolutely amazing with big portions, the tables were kept clear. The room was beautiful, even added extra garden gnomes around the room for me 😂 I hope the guys higher up realise what Emma and gang is worth they'd be daft to lose a team who made us feel incredible and my mum who wasn't well the night before. Thank you

Rooms are big, nicely done out but a tad worn, location next to A46 flyover not the best, spoilt by overflowing ashtrays left outside, didn’t eat here so can’t comment on food but it was popular

Good location for a stopover between the southwest and north, almost exactly half way and right on the route. We chose it because of that plus the low price. I'd stayed there once about 10 years ago and it wasn't bad at all. However, I don't think there's been any redecoration since then, and the restaurant especially has turned into a very grubby drinking establishment only. The rooms: beds are comfortable and everything works as it should, but grubby carpets and dark gloomy atmosphere. The evening meal: disastrous! I ordered Hunter's Chicken, a pub standard. This was by far the smallest and meanest I've come across. It was alright but very little of it. The accompanying coleslaw tasted vaguely fishy and was not but greasy really. On the side of the plate was a lump of pea shoots, the obligatory greens, but they looked as if they'd been picked out of the kitchen sink plughole. Check the photo!Breakfast the next morning: Nice amount of food and good ingredients, but poorly cooked, no real care taken at all. My egg was barely cooked, cherry tomatoes not cooked at all, just barely warm, little colour on bacon or sausages but at least cooked, black pudding nice but for whatever reason my portion was double the thickness of the one my wife was given. The greeting and service was excellent, but the food needs to be too. Will I be coming back in future? Not a chance. I don't see why any business should be given a second chance. Get it right first time - you are being charged for it and there's plenty more choice out there!

They went out of their way to make our wedding day go amazingly without fault. Nothing was too much trouble. Emma worked tirelessly all day. Was a day to remember. Many thanks. Gavin and Shelley

I had an enjoyable meal with excellent service at this Pub restaurant. Liam was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. He guided me through the menu and made thoughtful recommendations. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Can’t wait to visit again.

Poor rooms. Very shabby and tired. Staff excellent. Very noisy. Look at where it is on a map, don't go by the photos. Right next to the A46 flyover!

Stayed over for a couple of nights as I was working close by. Reception is inside of the pub. Rooms are decent sized, but I found it really dusty. Spent a good portion of the night, coughing and wheezing. Didn't try any food or breakfast as you had to go to the pub to eat. Drainage in the bathroom was really slow. Both in the bathtub and basin.
