Stayed here overnight as our flight was cancelled during storm Ashley. £42 for the night. Was basic, clean and a decent enough sleep. Bed was comfy, showers were warm, coffee and kettle etc in room. …

We were directed to this hotel by airline after a flight cancellation. The taxi driver asked why we had chosen it as it had a bad reputation (!), so we were of course very wary! But it was clean, room was big, bed really comfortable, great shower, fluffy towels and friendly staff.

Read some awful reviews about this place and was very wary about keeping the booking. Especially as I was going to be alone on the 2nd night. We even looked at another hotel just in case. We also read some good reviews and 1 person saying it's friends and family writing the reviews but.......we had a lovely stay.. the room was clean bed was very comfy and towels and bedding spotless. Didn't have much dealings with staff but when we did they were friendly enough. You can see a lot of money has gone into doing up this place. Rooms are small and compact but ok for few nights stay. Tea and coffee facilities in the room too. The bathroom is beautiful but did have 2 complaints about the bathroom which was passed onto staff. The toilet is actually quite loose and when yoy have a shower the head leaks and when youve finished the floor is like a lake and was still the same In the morningOverall a very pleasant stay very local to where we wanted to be and very good value for money. Will we stay there again ? Most definetly already looking to book for december

As many of you will see this place has a lot of poor reviews, it's obviously that this place has had a major refurbishment within the last month, everything was brand new; towels, linen, plastering, bathrooms, kettle, lighting. Just a shame that the quality of the tiling, joinery, carpet fitting was rather poor, however everything was very clean, smart TV, nice ensuit too. Had 4 great night sleep, room was on top floor, nice and cool, considering it was a warm week. Now the not so good stuffTowels only replaced some days, lift not working lots of arguments from bedrooms onto street, frequent police visits to maybe regular residents. If you need a place to rest your head its perfect.

I can’t say my experience was the same as everyone else’s. Travelled as a solo female first time ever in this country and it wasn’t bad in the slightest. …

I arrived at 10pm and went to the desk to check in. It was very speedy and I was taken straight to the room and shown in and left with a gesture the receptionist would return with a key for the door. He never did return and the whole stay felt like I was incarcerated knowing if I left the room I might never get back inside for my belongings. I ended up bolting the door and slept. At 6am there was knocking on my door for about 2 minutes. Without a peephole I was not going to chance it, not that I felt unsafe during my stay. Left the building at 10am having had a good sleep on a comfortable bed and taken a lovely shower. To locals the area is described as rough, but as I say, I felt safe enough.

Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I thought it was convenient and to a very high standard for the price. Was travelling home from Glasgow and had an early flight and booked this hotel because it was only £40!!! For one night. Comfy bed good standard tv and shower and very friendly staff. Couldn’t complain about anything. Would 100% stay again.

During the stay from the first day(11th July 24), I felt very insecure and the environment of first room has the strong smell of cigarettes. The receptionist was not show interest in explaining how to use the facility in the room.On my next day of staying(12th July 24) at 9:40am when I was minding my business in the toilet, suddenly, I heard someone opened my door without knocking or asking for permission. The person literally was entering my room. Then, I realised it was the room service. I was shocked and I told the house keeper that they should gained my permission before entering my room but the lady said “no, we do not need your permission and we can come in now.” I felt that this gesture and the way they explained was very rude and invasive. The My Motel must not put they customer in risk of feeling insecure. The motel totally shows no respect and did not take the customer’s safety and privacy seriously. As a single female traveller staying in My Motel, the experience during the stay was extremely unpleasant and certainly feels unsafe.Next, the location of My Motel is surrounded by a large group of homeless people. I believe some homeless people were staying during my time in the motel. This has made a single occupant like me feels extremely unsafe to live in the motel.Lastly, I have to point out that the level of hygiene in the motel is extremely poor. The bedsheet cover and the pillow covers smelled awful. They seemed like someone has been sleeping on the bed the day before me. I can still smelled the body scent from the previous user. I was extremely disappointed!I strongly not recommended anyone to stay in My Motel Glasgow especially single female traveller.
