Up in Oban for a triathlon. Perfect location for us not too far from the ferry port and parking.I've stayed in many hostels and I was delighted to see big bunk beds, duvet and pillow and comfy beds. Toilet and shower facilities are basic but fine. WiFi available. Charge area in room for technology. Big living room kitchen area and friendly staff.Would definitely recommend.

I definitely recommend for anyone who needs a quick, easy and cheap place to stay for a night. It was well organised and had a system in place to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible for everyone. It was also very clean and the staff were very friendly.

My second stay at Oban Backpackers and it was yet again a good stay. ||Free tea and coffee, nobody bothers you if you don't want them to. Plenty of charger points around the place downstairs. Some in rooms. …

Fab location and nice vibes.Rooms were OK, old fashioned but its an old building. Top bunk is really high near the ceiling, quite challenging to get up and down and there are no personal charging points/lights or bed curtains which makes things difficult.Staff were ok, one Australian girl was lovely and really worked hard to get a good atmosphere in the main room. The others were a bit unwelcoming. The main room is great, nice vibes, pool table and you can help yourself to free teas and coffees etc.Kitchen is locked overnight, which isnt great if you have an early ferry the next day and you want to make a lunch the night before to store in the fridge. Unsure of the reason.Would stay again.

Transphobic attitude blatantly on display today on the phone. Though maybe not directly discriminating, refused me entry by default by applying unadvertised rules contrary to their own descriptors of 'laid back', 'relaxing', 'like-minded', …

This hostel was in a very convenient location. Rooms included basic bunkbeds, no personal outlets, lockers or storage which was challenging for the top bunk. Site was reasonably clean. Overall, ok stay.

A bad experience. Refused entry to my daughter aged 17 when she arrived at 9.30pm (is she expected to sleep in a doorway?) and then refunded 0.25 cents of a dollar after they cancelled my booking. 25 cents?
