I didn't stay at the hotel so i can't comment on the rooms. I went with my family for a meal. The food was fair, the service was fair (at best). I felt the eating area was pretty horrible as 2 flies would not leave us alone. The waitress laughed and walked away. The lady on reception was really blunt with us. My mum had said we have booked for 3 and gave her name. The lady said have you booked, obviously not listening to what was said. My family have been a few times saying it is usually good but none of us would return. The fish and chips with mushie peas were just served all together, rather than the peas being in a little dish on the plate. Overall a disappointing experience. Shame really.

Overall experience was shocking. Immediately once walking in we were greeted by an older female member of staff who was incredibly rude. Ordered drinks and she continued to be rude and couldn't actually pour a simple pint. The younger staff were lovely but couldn't direct us around which was confusing. The beer garden was depressing and very dirty. Very disappointed and won't be coming back or recommending to anyone I know.

My wife and I visited the hotel at the end of a pretty long day for a meal; with the prospect of an equally long drive ahead of us before we arrived back home. …

Just had a 4 night stay and must say we were very happy. Room was a good size, as was the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and cozy. Housekeeping was very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous, cooked to order and set us up for the day. The whole team were friendly and welcoming and cannot fault the service. A cosy spot with a very professional eye for detail. Couldn't have been happier.

Isolated locations always have a difficult time generating business. Okay the hotel needs upgrading but in order to do that it needs customers. It's a hard balancing act. We found the rooms a good size and everything clean and tidy. …

Didn’t stay in a room but went for Sunday Carvery, starters were good, carvery just about ok, roast potatoes were deep fried, boiled potatoes were pre cooked and warmed up. No consistency to the meals, other tables got extra, different vegetables, no Yorkshire puddings on ours, other plates were piled high, guess it was different people plating up.App log we pie just about ok. Chocolate sponge pudding was dry and tasteless, even the custard didn’t make it palatable. We will not be returning
