We love Cullen but have never stayed there, had some time free, so we decided to book up for a couple of nights.|We looked at the Cullen hotel reviews, the prices, etc…, deciding to plump for the Royal Oak. So glad we did. …

Super dog friendly - nice dining area, separate to restaurant / alongside bar that caters for diners with dogs - even stock and sell high quality dog snacks. Excellent quality food and great service. Best to reserve a table (advise you are bringing 4 legged friend) as this is a very popular restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch. The soups were lovely and the paninis we had were ok, but the salad and coleslaw that came with them wasn’t great. We thought it was overpriced for what it was. Bar is dog friendly, the staff were lovely and service was good.

Hotels now are punitively expensive so it is more important than ever to find good accommodation that justifies its price. Mediocre experiences in Pitlochry and Elgin. …
