Popped in for a late lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quite busy with the holidays but we were seated and attended to. A couple of glasses of prosecco for me and a Diet Coke for the driver and 2 sandwiches and fries. Perfectly cooked chicken, bacon, egg with salad etc. Delicious. A quick chat with the owner and off we went with full tummy’s.

Arrived and greeted by a pleasant girl who showed us our table and took our order. We had booked a very early supper due to going to an event after. …

When we checked in we enquired about breakfast and we were told that we had not provided enough prior notice to have breakfast at the hotel, upon booking it is not clear how much "prior notice" is necessary. We were then shown to our room which was considerably more cramped than the pictures showed. My wife, who is 9 months pregnant, was unable to use the toilet as the toilet seat had faeces on it and also in the toilet. One of the staff did come and clean it but was rather abrupt with us when doing so. We then received a call from the owner to say that we would now be able to have breakfast at the hotel and we had assumed that this was a gesture of goodwill due to our poor experience, but this was not the case. The owner informed us that it would still cost us £25. When we questioned this we received a cheeky response of "if you have your heart set on a free breakfast, I'll see what I can do". At this point we were extremely dissatisfied with the service and attitude from the staff/owner we declined the backhanded offer. We would not stay here again.

I was there with friends and we had a raffle and a “disco”. The staff were lovely and liked to joke about but not in a disruptive way, in a friendly way. Would recommend if you want to have a nice relaxing evening with friends and family 👍 P.S. I did not try the rooms so I don’t know what they are like

The food was honestly not bad, but not a big selection. There is a big selection on drinks, however. The place is on the edge of newmachar so it's nice and quiet. there is a lack of parking space and space to put your bike. The service is alright, nothing special, but they have to be more aware of people when they want to order food and stop asking how's the food when eating, but only when you're finished. But other than that, there good people, but they need to speak up a little and be more clear. It's not a bad place to go, I suggest it.This is a non biased review, btw.

Lovely carvery. Staff attentive. Pudding disappointing...expensive for what tasted like shop bought meringue...sold as pavlova...with tinned strawberries. £8.50...bit over priced.

Just arrived from Dyce on our homeward journey. By the main road going through Newmacher with small number of parking slots available at the front of hotel. Did not stay on this occasion and can't comment on the rooms. Nice open feel to the restaurant with adequate space between tables. We had chicken wings with BBQ sauce and Cullen skink soup for starters, unfortunately the soup had fish bones in it. We opted for the evening's special tomahawk steak for 2 person's, we had it prepared medium. Perfectly cooked steak to both our liking which came with tomato, mushroom, fries and 2 x sauces creamy peppercorn and cheese. Very enjoyable meal, great service and satisfied with our choice to stop by before heading back home. Thank you and cheers!

Hi myself and 4 friends went for lunch on Tuesday, we all ordered salads 2 were chicken ceaser salads and 3 were prawn and salmon salads all costing £8.15.The young waitress came out and asked if they wanted chicken in there salad ???We dud wait a while for them but once they arrived we were all very disappointed. Out salmon and prawn salads came out in a bowl with only half the bowl filled and the other half empty. I asked the waitress if this was it and where was the salad as all that was in the bowl was 10 small Prawns, 4 slivers of salmon and curled lettuce, a I asked if there was cucumber and tomatoes to arrived and she shrugged and said no.One chicken salad had about 4 small bits of chicken the other less.We all had soft drinks and ended up with coffees after which came in small tea cups at a charge for some at £3.50. Our bill came to £72.45.We did not make too much of a fuss as our friend had booked it and kept apologising. We only get to catch up maybe twice a year so we were really disappointed.I did contact The Newmacher hotel to speak to the owner Grant but he was not there so I spoke to a gentleman and explained how disappointed we all were and he assured me the owner would be intouch, this never happened. We will not be returning to the Newmacher hotel.
