Room was very dirty, the shower was broken but we did not want to use it anyway so didn’t pursue this with staff (we left the next day as early as possible and showered at our next hotel). There must be no sound-proofing, the hotel is fairly noisy during the night. The staff was fine (not particularly welcoming but competent and polite) and the location is good. The hotel was probably grand once upon a time… some of that charm is still visible in the public areas.

Wonderful old building with loads of original features. Our room (120 sea view) was spotlessly clean with front facing sea view and small side window looking toward the RAF base. …

Just had another super holiday at the Stotfield hotel. The staff are so nice and welcoming and couldn’t do more for you. The restaurant is beautiful overlooking the firth and with amazing sunsets. The food never disappoints and they always have a deal on for guests. Look forward to returning.

Stayed at the Stotfield whilst away on business, the setting of the hotel is great for views looking out over the coastline. The rooms are very tired and need of refurbishment. The restaurant has a great setting and the food is of good quality. Staff are friendly attentive.

A lot of internal renovations required in particular the rooms. Not much parking space. Breakfast was good. Hotel would be a great value once they sort out simple things as heating which does not seem to work well.

It looks nice on the surface... but it's quite old & dated. Could really be done with an update, especially the toilets... It's like walking into a school toilet in the 70s. Three of the four toilets were broken, quite poor, really. The staff, however, were absolutely lovely. Couldn't fault them, and the view was something else.We were there for a funeral, but we didn't stay in the hotel. Thank god because the rest of the group that did said the rooms were filthy & old, which is actually really sad for the family.

This place should deliver, but it doesn't. The location is gorgeous, the building is stunning but thats about where it ends. The welcome was more lukewarm than anything, from a slightly unfriendly receptionist. The inside of the hotel, quite honestly is a hot mess. This place hasn't seen a lick of paint in a very long time. Hilariously the website boasts over sized linens, supportive mattresses and plugs by the bed as "features" I hate to break the news, but as a hotel, in 2024 those are basic requirements. Interestingly the mattress is ex RAF stock, whilst it wasn't supportive, it was saggy, I did sleep well. The room is extremely tired, and in desperate need of some investment of time, energy and money. I am unsure if the owner/operator is even aware they own the google business page as they don't respond to other reviews, which is a shame as this place could be a gem.

Great old hotel, rooms in need of a makeover but public areas are first class. The location is exceptional with beautiful views over the Moray Firth. Buffet breakfast was very good with a great selection, evening meal also recommended. Would definitely stay here again as it's the perfect location for seeing all the towns and villages throughout beautiful Morayshire. Also a mention for the staff who were so friendly and attentive.
