Just back from our fourth stay at Claremont Cottage. Neill and Jane are the perfect hosts. In fact we consider them as friends. Accommodation is excellent. Lovely setting in well kept gardens, and only a few minutes drive from St Andrews. Book a stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Have just spent 4 nights at the idyllic Claremont Cottage and cannot recommend it more highly. Quiet peaceful setting, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished bedroom and ensuite and delicious freshly prepared breakfast. Hosts Jane and Neill could not have done more to make our trip so enjoyable and they felt like old friends by the time we checked out. Thank you both so much. It was wonderful!

This is a review from Steven and Phyllis, using Simon's app. This B&B is an excellent place to stay. Our bedroom was lovely, everything is well furnished and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast is so good. Neil and Jane are super hosts. We will definitely stay here again.

Neil and Jane are the perfect hosts! They were really lovely and showed us everything around the room as have some advice for dinner. Their garden is really nice, with beautiful flowers, a hammock and many trees. The room is lovely and it has very much light. The armchairs are so comfy, I could have sit there all day long, sipping a cup of tea and reading a book. The highlight was breakfast! A table full of delicious food!

Quick Summary:• Very welcoming• Excellent breakfast• Easy Parking and Access• Great personalities to put you at ease• clean, and thoughtful decor• definitely recommend and go backMy wife and I booked this place for a local wedding we were attending near St Andrews. It’s a quintessential B&B reflective of the area. Picturesque scenery, quiet and peaceful gardens with a beautifully decorated room. This extends to the kitchen where there is a large window viewing the garden, neighbouring fields (including donkeys!) and skylight windows. This makes a great morning breakfast area, where you will be served by Jane and Neil.I feel the rating should be reflective of the experience and feeling during the stay. Neil and Jane have worked hard to make the place feel welcoming including their own approach, which really puts you at ease. We had a minor issue with the shower pressure( mine was amazing, just on my wife’s 🤦🏻‍♂️), but you could tell this would be rectified quickly as it would have frustrated them it wasn’t 100%. Thus really didn’t detract from the overall experience. If you are travelling through Neil is a fountain of knowledge and that really is priceless. The breakfast was top notch too, and you could tell they took pride in everything they provided, which overall makes this place superb, at the Claremont cottage. Thanks Neil and Jane!P.s. I’ve pasted and image of google maps as the maps are a bit confused, so the one you want is on the right of the picture if that helps.

Just returned from a short stay in St Andrews where we were exceptionally fortunate to have stayed in the Claremont Cottage. Our bedroom was more like a suite, which you would find in a 5 star Hotel. The Jewel in the Crown was when we opened the French doors of our suite it led onto our own sun area, complete with parasol and furniture, which were surrounded by beautiful flowers of the garden and overlooked by the forest. It was a pleasure to sit here in the evening unwinding with a glass of wine after the sightseeing in St Andrews and watching the sun fade into the horizon. The added bonus to the end of our day was knowing that it would be followed by a scrumptious breakfast. Our breakfast was delivered with aplomb by Neil the Chef and Jane the Maître d’. We enjoyed sitting there enjoying great conversation and letting the day drift by. We would highly recommend the Claremont Cottage and plan to return again in the future. Neil and Jane, thanks again for a fantastic stay. Charles and Sandra

Our stay at Claremont Cottage was outstanding. The bedroom and en suite have been recently updated and everything is modern, pristine and carefully selected. It feels like owners Jane and Neill have thought of everything. Examples include two suitcase stands so guests can use one each, a range of spare toiletries in case you might have forgotten anything and a full list of local eateries with helpful details for each. Breakfast involves a wide choice of delicious options to enjoy with views over the garden and fields. If you're lucky the local wildlife will make a distant appearance too! Jane and Neill help their guests feel really comfortable: this is truly a home from home. They are also fountains of knowledge and will offer useful advice about the local area and further afield in Scotland if you would like it. If you're visiting St Andrews and looking for accommodation nearby, you won't do better than this.
