Great Inn to explore Edinburgh and the surroundings. We spent two nights as a family there and had two really nice rooms with a fantastic view. Breakfast and dinner were also really good. The only improvement could be the cleanliness of the chairs in the dining room. Easy fix I guess. Overall, great Inn!!!

Hi thereMy son had a small midweek weeding at the Inn in OctoberI would just like to say the Inn done a fantastic job , many thanks( 40 during day and 40 night guests )The wedding took place in the conservatory which was tastefully decorated and was lovely as it was a lovely sunny day .The day was organized excellently by the owners who kept the function running smoothly from start to finish .The wedding photos were taken outside in the garden which again was lovely as the weather was nice and sunnyThe wedding venue itself was tastefully decorated .The wedding meal was excellent and this view was supported by all the guests .....the rolls in sauage and the rolls in bacon at night again were excellent .The staff were very attentive at all times , and the bar was always fully staffed .We did not stay overnight in the Inn but our family did for two nights, and they said the rooms and the breakfasts were very good with no complaints .My philopshy has always been praise when praise is due .Many thanks to the Inn and all their staff and I would absolutley recommend this as a wedding venue .

We stayed for 4 nights, and we were very happy with the experienceOur room was clean on arrival, and cleaned to a good standard daily, with a decent shower,I only had the cooked breakfast, but there was other options of fruit, cereals etc, with unlimited teas, coffee and juices. We ate in the restaurant 3 times, and the food cooked to a good standard and reasonably priced as were the drinks,Special mention to the staff who although being a small team were always on hand to help and were courteous at all time,

Although we booked a standard room, the room was not up to a reasonable standard. Ther is no view, only a slate roof 10 feet away, the sink tap was so slack it turned 180 degrees every time you tried to change the temperature, the shower control is really stiff and there is a lot of black mould around the base..We came back from a day out to discover the bedroom door had not been closed by the cleaners, this is because it does not function properly.Their set up for buffet breakfast is totally inadequate, some food was look warm while others were cold (especially the eggs)All in all a very disappointing hotel, needless to say we will not be back

I had a fantastic time at this inn. I stayed two nights during a visit to the Edinburgh area. There is a bus stop right outside the inn where you can go into Dunfermline and catch a bus or train most anywhere. Staff was gracious and kind and very accommodating. I was able to check in early after a red eye flight from the states. Breakfast was delicious and so was dinner. I would most definitely stay here again.

I wouldn’t not say this is a 3 star inn.First glance you think you’ve hit the best coziest inn.But that all changes when you walk up the stairs are the carpets look disgusting. Again rooms look good at first glance until you look closer and something looks like it’s growing in the corner of the shower, bathroom floor looks gross. Plus when you get into the shower the water temp would not go cold. You get really hot water. When you twist the knob the other way it turns into blistering hot water … which is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The wall heaters don’t work along with the bathroom towel heater, they just give you an oil heater …I wouldn’t recommend this place, they don’t put back into their place.

The hotel is located in a beautiful place. While the room was clean the doors wouldn't close. It could have been better maintained. They have a restaurant and a bar. The food was good. The waiters were helpful.

Looking for a hotel close to the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, I chose The Inn at Charlestown primarily as they are pet freindly, but also, the location was good. When booking online, I chose a 'room with a water view', so a real pleasant surprise to find it had its own private balcony. Which was a wonderful surprise as it really enhanced the views from the room.We recently stayed at a large hotel in Inverness, but the Inn at Charlestown was twice as nice for half the price....I Happily recommend the Inn at Charlestown.....

We enjoyed a fabulous evening celebrating our mum's 95th birthday in the private function room at the Inn at Charlestown. The service and food were great and it was a lovely setting too.
